"Baby, we're supposed to be getting ready to leave," I called out, slipping on the last piece of my outfit.
Dave looked up from the rocking chair, Kenzie snuggled into his chest. "I know, mamas, but every time I put her down, she cries."
"That's because you spoil her," I said with a laugh, grabbing my bag. "You always carrying her. Let her little butt cry for a minute—she'll be fine."
He kissed the top of her head, his voice playful but firm. "You better not be letting my baby cry, Tia East."
Every time he called me by my new name, butterflies bloomed in my stomach. I still couldn't believe I married the love of my life two days ago. Today was our honeymoon day. We were supposed to be on the PJ this morning, but Kairi had a whole meltdown about us leaving, and now Kenzie wouldn't let her daddy go anywhere without her.
"Bear, you're not even dressed," I reminded him.
"Come here."
I walked over, standing between his legs as he looked up at me, eyes full of love and something else that made my knees weak.
"We gone get there, baby. Don't be stressing, alright? I just gotta throw my shirt on and we good. Now give me lip."
I kissed him softly. He smacked my ass and then gripped it, grinning as I rolled my eyes and walked off to find Kairi.
I found her in the kitchen, perched on a stool beside Grace, eating everything in sight.
"What you eating, fat mama?" I asked.
"Pie," she said with a grin, her mouth full.
Grace laughed. "Y'all two need to get going."
"Dave won't put down Kenzie 'cause she spoiled," I teased.
"These girls got him wrapped around their little fingers," Grace said, shaking her head.
"I keep telling his hardheaded self that," I said with a smirk just as Dave walked in, fully dressed now with Kenzie on his shoulder.
"I'm not hardheaded—I'm right here. Come on, mamas."
Grace pulled us both into a quick hug. "Alright, y'all be safe, okay?"
"We love you," we both said in unison.
"I love y'all too."
We kissed both girls goodbye, leaving Kairi in mid-bite and Kenzie cuddled in Grace's arms. Then, just like that, we were off—headed to Bali. As soon as we boarded the PJ, I made a beeline for the private bedroom.
I was exhausted. Dave had been giving me head all night long, making sure I couldn't get more than an hour of rest.
