Tia – POV

"Just breathe," the nurse said gently, her voice calm as she held my hand.

"Aahhh—I'm trying, I'm trying!" I cried, gripping the bedrail with everything I had.

"You almost there, baby," Dave said, standing at my side. His hand was in mine, his thumb stroking the back of it gently. "Just take your time."

It was almost time to meet my baby girl. The moment I'd dreamed of, stressed over, prayed for—it was here. And I had everyone I loved right here with me.

Dave was in the room with me, exactly where I needed him to be. This was our moment. I was only five centimeters dilated, which meant I still had a ways to go, but I was trying to stay grounded, breathe, and stay in the moment.

The nurses were amazing. Truly. They rubbed my back with oils, whispered soft encouragement, and even had me breathing in calming scents to ease the pain. I had made the decision to go natural—no epidural, none of that—and whew... it was no joke. The pain was real, but I was built for this. I knew I could take it.

"You okay, baby?" Dave asked again, leaning in to wipe the sweat from my forehead.

"I'm good," I said, breathing through another contraction. "Just... so ready to have her."

The day passed in a blur. My mama and daddy came in to see me. Kim walked in with little Izabelle holding her hand. Brandy showed up with Bully, and Corey came with Mia. Even Izzy, Ki, and Chris pulled through. It meant everything to me. They were cracking jokes like we weren't in a delivery room, but honestly, the laughs helped distract from the pain.

We even FaceTimed Dave's grandma so she could be part of this moment. She blessed the baby over the phone and promised to be on the first flight out as soon as I was ready for visitors.

Finally, the nurse checked me again and nodded.

"She's 10 centimeters," she told the doctor.

That's when it got real.

My contractions hit different—stronger, longer, more intense. I squeezed Dave's hand tight, a wave of pain hitting me like a truck.

"Dave... it hurts," I groaned, trying not to cry.

He kissed my hand and rubbed my arm softly. "I know, baby. I'm so sorry. It's almost over. Just hold on."

The doctor came in with a warm smile. "Alright, my favorite family," she said. "You ready to push?"

"Yes," I said through gritted teeth. "Please."

"Okay, Mama. On the count of three..."

She was finally here.

As beautiful as I could have ever imagined.

Our baby girl—our everything—lay in my arms, her tiny fingers curled into a fist, her eyes slowly blinking open like she was trying to take the world in one soft breath at a time.

I looked over at Dave, and he was already crying. Not even trying to hold it back. His arm was around me, the other hand resting gently on our daughter's little head as he stared down at her like she was the greatest thing he'd ever seen.
