~Day 317~
The group, minus Rick, Daryl and Hershel were in the cell block, gearing up their weapons in case the Governor's people tried attacking them again. Rebecca was loading up her gun with some bullets when she hears Glenn call Carl's name.
"Carl, come here."
Carl walks around the table, over to Glenn who held out a box of ammo. "You stash these at the loading dock. All right?" Carl nods as he takes the ammo from Glenn who picks up another box and hands it off to Beth. "Beth, put more up on the catwalk." Beth nods before taking the box from him.
Glenn looks around the group. "If anyone gets pinned down, we need to make sure that they have plenty of ammo." He grabs his gun, a blowtorch and a pair of gloves. "I'll go work on the cage outside."
But before Glenn leave the cell, Merle stopped him. "What we should be doing is loading some of this firepower in a truck and paying a visit to the Governor. We know where he is right now."
"Are we suggesting that we just go in and kill him?" Glenn asked him, baffled. "Yeah, I am." "We told Rick and Daryl that we'd stay put," Michonne stated. "I've changed my mind, sweetheart. Being on the sideline with my brother out there ain't sitting right with me." Merle glances over at Rebecca who had set her gun down and began loading some arrows into her crossbow.
"Becca,"
Rebecca glances up, her eyes narrowed onto Merle. Merle clears his throat. "Rebecca, are you really okay with the fact that you're here while your boyfriend is out there with the Governor?" "No, I'm not but I did promise him that I would stay here and protect our group and that's what I'm going to do," she tells him firmly. "Rebecca-" "Merle-" The two began bickering until Glenn breaks the small fight up.
"Guys! Stop it!"
Rebecca and Merle grew quiet immediately as they faced Glenn. "The three of them are right in the middle of it. No idea we're coming. They could get taken hostage or killed. A thousand things could go wrong." "And they will."
"My dad can take care of himself," Carl says firmly to Merle, his tone not wavering. "Sorry, son, but your dad's head could be on a pike real soon," Merle calls out to Carl as he left the cell.
Rebecca scoffs and shakes her head at Merle. "You know, you're real lucky that you're my boyfriend's brother because if you weren't...I would shoot you in the head right now for saying that to him." Rebecca shoves her gun into the waistband of her jeans and roughly grabs her crossbow before storming out of the cell block.
Merle rolls his eyes before looking back over at Glenn. "It's not the right move. Not now. Can't take the risk of putting them in the crossfire. That's my decision. It's final," he tells Merle before leaving the cell.

Rebecca steps out onto the loading dock to see Carl, stashing the ammo boxes onto the ground. She slowly walks over to him and stops right in front of him.
"Hey, kiddo."
"What do you want, Rebecca?"
Rebecca sucks in a harsh breath. "Oohh! Using my full name now are we? What ever happened to Becca?" Carl lets out a sigh as he begins fiddling with his gun. Rebecca exhales before squatting down.
"Look, Carl, Merle is dead ass wrong about your dad. Rick's head will never end up on a pike. He can take of himself, like you said." "I know he can, it's just..."
"Just what?"
"I don't want him to die," he tells her quietly. Rebecca's eyes soften. "And he's not going to kiddo, you know why?" Carl shakes his head. "Because he's Sheriff Grimes," she says in his accent, earning a laugh from Carl. "There's that smile," she teases him as Carl rolls his eyes and lightly shoves her back, trying to make her loose her balance but she stayed upright.
"Everything is going to be okay, Carl. If we happen to go to war with the Governor which we probably will...we will win because we're survivors...we know what's it like to be out there and what to do in any situation while the Governor's people don't."
"You're right, Becca."
"Course I am, kiddo," she tells him while taking his hat off and ruffling his hair. Carl lets out a groan as he tries to reach for his hat back but Rebecca places it on his head, the two sharing a laugh.

"They're back!
Rebecca's head snaps up as she hears the familiar roar of a motorcycle and smiles widely as she sees Daryl from a distance, followed by a car that had Rick and Hershel in it.
Rebecca runs over to the gate and quickly opens it up just in time as Daryl drove into the courtyard, followed by Rick and Hershel. Rebecca slams the gate shut and locks it up with the help of Carl.
Hearing the satisfying click of the lock, Rebecca turns around and was met with Daryl already staring at her. She runs over to him just as he swings his legs off his motorcycle. He lets out a deep chuckle as Rebecca ran into his arms, the two sharing a kiss while the group gathered around the car as Rick and Hershel hopped out.
Rebecca pulled away and gazes up into Daryl's eyes. "I've missed you." "Missed ya too," he tells her as he wraps an arm around her shoulder, pulling her into his side and kissing the top of her head to which she smiled at the gesture.
"Let's get inside," Rick tells the group as everyone followed after him and into the prison.
++++++
The group all stood side-by-side in Cell Block C as Rick stood in front of them.
"So, I met this Governor," he begins looking over each person of his group. "Sat with him for quite a while."
"Just the two of you?" Merle questions. Rick nods. "Yeah." "Should have gone when we had the chance, bro," he mutters to Glenn as he walks past him. Glenn rolls his eyes and placed his attention back onto Rick.
"He wants the prison," Rick says making Rebecca freeze in Daryl's hold. Daryl lightly rubs his hand up and down her back in reassurance that the Governor would never get his hands on the prison.
"He wants us gone. Dead. He wants us dead for what we did to Woodbury."
The group all eye each other at the unsettling news that Rick had just spilled to them.
"We're going to war."

*Author's Note: Sorry this chapter was a bit short. There wasn't much to write about in this episode. I debated on weather or not I should have Rebecca at the meeting with the Governor but she wouldn't have really fit in the scene which is why I kept her at the prison. Hoped you enjoy this chapter! Sorry I've been gone long, but the next chapter will be up during the holiday break :) *
