~Day 60~
It has been roughly about two months since the world had gone to shit. As each day passed, the group at the Quarry had grown closer to one another.
Especially Daryl Dixon and Rebecca Parker.
Every morning, Rebecca would wake up, get dressed and eat breakfast before heading off towards the edge of the woods were Daryl would be waiting for her.
It was an everyday routine for the two. Since they both hunt, Dale suggested that the two would go into the woods together to search for food for the group.
Surprisingly, Daryl didn't object like everyone thought he would. Each time they went into the woods, they came out learning new bits of information about each other.
Rebecca knew very little about Daryl since he wasn't comfortable about being open towards anyone but she appreciated the small talks and looks they shared.
"I win again!"
Rebecca snapped the thought of Daryl out of her mind as she looked down at the tic-tac-toe board that was on the ground. Rebecca pouted, "I can't believe I lost again."
Carl grinned faltered as he looked up at Rebecca, "You are not letting me win on purpose, are you?" Rebecca shook her head. "Of course not! I am just plain awful at this game." She spotted Glenn from a distance who was making his way over towards them.
"Ask Glenn. He's coming over here."
Carl perked up, "Hey Glenn!"
"Hi, Carl. What's up?"
"Is Becca awful at tic-tac-toe?"
Glenn's eyes trailed over to Rebecca who mouthed "Say yes" Glenn placed his hands on his hips, "Awful? Try terrible!" Carl looked over at Rebecca, "See, I told you buddy."
"Hey, Glenn!"
The three turned their heads to see Andrea. She stopped by them. "You coming?!" Glenn nodded, "I will be right there." Andrea nodded before heading over to a car.
Confused, Rebecca turned to Glenn for answers. "Where are they going?" "Andrea, Merle, Jacqui, Morales and T-Dog wanted to come along with us on our run."
Rebecca groaned, "Did you just say that Merle wanted to come on our run?" Glenn hesitantly nodded his head.
"But wait, I thought it was just going to be you and me." "They wanted to come and I just couldn't say no to them. Plus, we can always use the extra hands in case we do find something to salvage.
Rebecca sighed; she didn't want to take four more people onto their run. That would mean that she would be responsible for the lives of six people, Glenn, T-Dog, Andrea, Merle, Jacqui and Morales.
"I don't like this idea but, what the hell; they can come if they want to." "Meet us at the car in five." Glenn told her before walking away.
Rebecca looked down at Carl and noticed that his mood had instantly changed. She nudged him lightly and he looked up at her.
"What's wrong?"
Carl sighed. "I was hoping we could hang out together today." Rebecca's eyes softened as she saw how down Carl was. "Hey, we can hang out when I get back."
Carl didn't say anything.
"I will come back in one piece."
Rebecca found herself staring into Carl's bright blue eyes, "Promise?" he asked, his voice breaking. "I promise. Now come here and give me a hug."
