Chapter XVI

I was half awake when I felt as if someone was lifting me up. Thinking it was but a dream, I groaned before trying to go back to sleep.

Much to my dismay, I was unable to do so. I was having a head rush and neck was hanging down. Somebody was definitely carrying me.

Forcing my eyes apart I took in my surroundings. Xavier was carrying me in his arms towards what seemed like a jet. It was still nightfall and the air around was chilly.

Realizing I had woken up, Xavier looked down.

I don't think I'm getting used to his piercing stare anytime soon. Taking in a sharp breath I said, "You can put me down now."

He smirked, "I  think I'm good."

I rolled my eyes, I don't know how I'd survive the whole flight with him and Hayden.

Hayden was walking right in front of us and reached the jet before us, disappearing into its entrance.

"You ready, Mi amor?" Xavier asked as he gently set me to my feet.

"Not one bit." I replied honestly.

He nodded before he climbed the stairs leading into the jet.

I stood there, staring at my hometown, lost in my own thoughts. What if I never got to come back? Was this really worth it? Was I ready for this? What if I regretted this decision?

"You coming?" Xavier called out, looking at me with concern.

I took in my hometown for the last time before climbing the jet quickly, I didn't want to change my mind. Something in me told me I could trust Xavier, trust him enough to keep his word and let me come back.

With that thought in my mind, I sat on one of the comfortable leather seats of the private jet. It wasn't surprising, I wouldn't expect anything less from the king.

Buckling myself in, I looked out the window as the jet took off.

"Hayden, mail me the stats on the recent production market." Xavier said as he took out a laptop.

Hayden groaned, "Seriously Xavier? I thought you'd back off for a while."

Xavier simply raised his brow, his solemn face unfazed.

"I'm just going to talk to the only nice person on this jet." Haden stated before he turned to me with a hundred watt smile.

"What's your name beautiful?" He asked politely.

The question made me realize that neither of them knew my name.

A small devious smirk made its way on my face, "Good luck figuring it out."

With that, Hayden started guessing names he thought suited me. Among them were Angel, Amelia, Vicky, and Jessica.

I couldn't help but chuckle at his futile tries.

"Do you randomly go around picking girls up from their homes without even knowing their names?" I asked turning towards Xavier,  "Interesting."

Xavier looked up at me from his laptop  like I had grown a second head. He was probably not ready for this. Oops, too bad.

It was as if realization hit him like a truck. He straightened in his seat, "What is your name Mi amor?"

His thick accent was really sexy and I almost had the urge to tell him my name. Controlling myself, I rolled my eyes internally.

"I'm not going to tell you." I wasn't going to make it that easy for him. Might as well have some fun.

He looked at me as if he couldn't believe. Astonished, he stuttered to get words out of his mouth.

Hayden was making background noises and 'oofing'.  I think I'm really going to enjoy his company during my time here.

"You refuse to tell me your name?" He asked.

"Yes. Has nobody every refused you before?" I casually questioned.

I wasn't hoping for a reply and his answer left me baffled.

"No."

"What?!" Hayden and I exclaimed at the same time.

After that the plane ride was pretty much silent but I didn't mind it all. I was actually thankful for it.

I got to admire the enchanting view of the seas below. Ah, how I wished to swim in them. There was no point through out the journey where I was bored of the view.

In fact, I was sure that all this neck craning was going to give me a really bad ache the following day.

Will it be worth it? Every bit of it.

A voice spoke through the intercom, "We'll be landing shortly, I hope you had a comfortable flight and would like for me to fly you again, your highness."

And soon enough, we were back on the ground.

God only knew what he had in store for me.
