We've already reached Chapter 17 ?!? Wow. I would like to thank all of you who have been with me since day one or joined me on this journey along the way. It really means a lot to me and I know I haven't been a consistent writer but just hang on there ! I'm trying my best. I really had aimed to reach the 18th chapter by the end of 2019 and let's hope chapter 18 is up before 2020. (Fingers crossed)

Chapter XVII

Stories I had read about the Castle always talked about how the castle rose out of the darkness of dawn- the moss clinging to the ancient walls that carried the secrets of all the kings to have ever sat on its throne.

Standing in front of the castle, I wondered how much of what I'd read and heard was true. The castle looked unbelievable captivating, the vintage french architecture screaming two words- rich and powerful.

It was exquisite but as the cold wind swiped my hair into my face, goosebumps rose on my skin. There was something eerie about this castle that made the hair on the back of my neck stand.

"Let's go shawty." I heard Hayden say.

"Who you calling short, asshole?" I said as I ran after him.

He let out a shriek as I started chasing him, we were inside the palace and I was least bothered about how people were looking at me run like a mad women in such a formal place.

I had my mind set on catching Hayden and whooping his ass. Call me childish but this place sure need some life in it.

The hallways were filled with screams and gasps as Hayden almost banged into multiple officials and almost toppled over a food tray.

He was only a hand away form me when he suddenly turned into another hallway and I banged right into a door.

Standing in front of it, I took a good look at it. The heavy mahogany double doors were locked and looked as if no one had opened them for a good century. This probably was the only door  that had dust and rust settled upon it.

I was curious as to what was behind that door. A sudden urge to open it washed over me and it took every fiber in my body to stop myself from doing so.

Looking around for a second time, I finally left.

Walking back to the main entrance, I saw Xavier walking away with multiple guards surrounding him.

I was slightly disappointed that he didn't wait for me but I lost track of those thoughts as soon as I saw Hayden standing in the corner, his back facing me.

He was heaving, as I was I, and he still hadn't noticed me.

Taking that as an opportunity, I quickly ran up behind him and gave out a war cry just before I jumped onto his back, making us both tumble onto the ground.
