So I've decided to make best use of the time in hand during this quarantine and update as much as I possibly can. You guys have been so patient with me and I owe it to you all,  it's the least I can do.

ENJOY!!!

Chapter XXII :

"I'm done!" I exclaimed, exhausted, out of breath, and sweaty as ever.

"You're done when I say you're done." Hayden replied in a firm tone, not backing down, "Come on Scarlett, three more laps."

It hadn't taken long for Hayden to figure out my name. He had been dragging our 'training' sessions to the point of total and absolute exhaustion.

"I'm going to beat the crap out of you." I threatened as I flashed him my teeth.

"In your dreams." He smirked. That jerk knew he was better at combat than me and he had made sure I knew. We'd sparred multiple times, each time ended up with me on the floor. But what else was I to expect, he was double my size - his muscles big enough to end me in a second if he wanted.

I really didn't mind the sparring though, every time he taught me a new technique or trick.

He was surprised to learn that I picked up on things very quickly. It almost seemed as if he was impressed.

He could see I was improving each day yet he didn't give me a break. Instead he make the course harder each time.

Here I was, dying just from the warm up today.

Today's course involved only running. Either through zic-zac patterns, over hurdles and what not.

We'd been at it for over three hours, just running. I was beyond done. I didn't even want to move.

When I had tried asking him about the training sessions and why he kept them so intense he simply shrugged mumbling something along the lines of 'You never know what might happen'.

I had been here for over a week and I already missed just lounging in bed all day. I hadn't even danced in over a week! That's the longest I've gone without dancing.

I barely had time to myself between these training sessions with Hayden and learning about this castle, the workings of the moon and wolf connection.

It was like I was back to school, following a timetable.

Xavier was barely present, busy with his duties. Sometimes I saw him stumbling to his room at night, dark circles evident under his eyes.

It was getting worse each day and there was a gnawing feeling in the pit of my stomach. Something wasn't right.

When I finally finished the last three laps, Hayden clapped-taunting me.
