It's been about 16 days since my last update but I'm so used to uploading every 5 days, it feels weird. I feel guilty? Does that make sense? Or do I sound like a crazy obsessed author? (Self proclaimed author oops)
Thank you for waiting!
Anyway, here's another chapter !!
Enjoy!
Chapter XXXIX
Xavier Kacee Morris
All I could think about was that Scarlett had just marked me. I was bounded to her for life. Not that I wasn't before but now it was official.
Everyone will know if I do not hide my mark. I do not wish to hide it, but for her sake I will.
If anyone see's it, we'll have to keep a ceremony for her coronation as well, the council will be on sucking her blood every second of the day.
There's no way in hell I will have her go through the same thing they made me go through during the transition period.
My chain of thoughts was broken when she fell asleep, her head laying on my chest.
When I first laid eyes on her, I had no idea a tiny creature like herself had such strength and ambition.
Since the first day here, Hayden has been preparing her to physically take over the throne but not once had she ever complained about it.
I've seen her send death threats to him and play around but that only makes me chest swell with pride.
Petting her hair gently, I admired her sleeping face.
She sniffed a little before snuggling her nose into my shirt.
Smiling, I placed a kiss on her forehead.
That night, I slept like a log, my last thought being that my mate marked me.
I don't know what time it was but I was shaken awake by Hayden.
I sat up immediately, eyes searching the room for any threats.
Hayden's face was filled with worry, "How were you still asleep?!?"
"What happened?" I mumbled, running a hand over my face.
His eyes searched my face before landing on my neck. They widened and he exhaled heavily, "Xavier, you were probably exhausted from the marking but something terrible happen."
