Chapter XLI

Xavier Kacee Morris

We had already shot a missile at the door and it had the audacity to stand there, unscratched. With every failed try, I was getting more agitated.

God forbid if anything happened to her, I wouldn't know what to do.

Growling in frustration, I went ahead and started banging against the door, throwing my body against it like a madman.

"Xavier!"  Hayden shouted, pulling me away from it, "You're not helping right now! If a missile can't break the door, your shoulder won't either!"

He was just as tense as I was but at least he wasn't letting his emotions get the best of him.

Running a frustrated hand down my face I let out a long exhale, "I just want to make sure she's okay."

"I know you do Xavier. We're trying our best but you need to understand that mundane weapons won't break down a door with a spell cast on it." He explained.

"That's it!" I exclaimed as an idea struck me.

I was running down the hall, impatiently trying to reach my room. I had been gifted a borne from the witches when I was crowned king.

Rushing towards my closet, I threw all my stuff out, pushing buttons to open up the safe. The metal wall slid open, revealing the tangra.

The tangra was a circular copper ring covered up in old herbs. The witches told me I had to say what I wanted inside the ring and wait for the magic to take place.

Without wasting another second, I wished for Scalett and Sasha to be alright. I could've wished for the door to open but there was no guarantee what we would find upon doing so.

As the ring glowed a bright golden, it slowly disappeared. Closing my eyes, I prayed to the moon goddess.

I had only just found Scarlett, had barely had enough time with her. The past couple of years had been the worst ones of my life, this very year I had been crowned- my whole dynamics changing. I had been preparing for this fight, I was ready for this battle and it's responsibilities.

The one year I was finally ready to focus on myself, build my empire- the goddess thought it was alright  to bless me with a mate.

I was glad I found her, shocked even. I just know, she isn't ready for my world, my story, my past.
