Twenty

While in the shower, Namjoon was bothered by what could have caused Jin to be in his bed crying. Jin had not contacted him in a few days, and now he shows up in his bed looking like something terrible had happened to him.

Namjoon knew as much as he would like to know what happened to him, Jin would never disclose that information unless he felt like it. Since they had met three years ago, that's how Jin has always been. He had only seen Jin like this four times, today making the fifth time.

Similar to Hoseok, Namjoon had strong feelings for Jin, but he didn't act on it as he knew where Jin stood. Jin never gave him hope that they could be more; neither did he ask for more. It was better having Jin as he did now than not having him around at all.

He had made sure to give Jin the passcode to his home so he could come by anytime he wanted to, Jin rarely ever used the code or came over unannounced and when he did, it meant he didn't want sex, he just wanted to get away. Namjoon never knew what it is he wanted to get away from, but he knew his home had become that place for Seokjin.

Once he was done showering, he slipped on a pair of shorts and a t-shirt. He had made plans to meet his colleagues at the law firm he worked at for some drinks, but now that Jin had shown up, he would neglect his colleagues for however long Jin needed him.

"Do you need some water, anything to eat?"Namjoon asked Jin as he walked back into the room while rubbing his towel through his damped hair.

Jin shook his head and hugged the pillow closer. His eyes were wide looking at Namjoon, but he said nothing to him. He didn't feel like talking, and he just wanted to lay in comfort and silence. He had turned his phone off after sending Taehyung the message that he could not pick up Minji. Taehyung was probably upset with him, but it was not something he could worry about at the moment.

"Okay, then." Namjoon smiled at Jin before throwing his towel to the corner of his room and got into his bed next to Jin. He pulled Jin into his arms. Fixing Jin's head so that Jin's head was lying on top of his chest. Jin wrapped his arm over Namjoon's body, hearing Namjoon's heartbeat for some reason made him emotional.

"I don't know what's wrong, I wish I did so I could comfort you better, but whatever it is I hope it will get better. I don't like you being this way. If there is anything you need me to do, please let me know. I will always be there for you no matter what Jin." Namjoon began stroking Jin's hair as he spoke to him.

Jin burst into tears and gripped onto Namjoon's shirt with his hand balled up in a fist. He was in a lot of pain; pain he knew no one would understand. Some of it he knew was self-inflicted pain, but he had his reason, at least that's what he told himself.

"Jinnie, I am home!" Minji yells as she runs into the house. She was upset and disappointed that Jin did not come and pick her up, but her dad made it up to her by bringing her to buy her favorite Chimmy plushy. She wanted Koya as well, but it was sold out. Taehyung promised her he would order it for her.

"I told you Jin is not home, sweetie." Taehyung walks into the house with his daughter's schoolbag in his hand and her new plushy that he did not understand the reason for her hype over it.

"Where is he?"

"I don't know, Minji."

Minji walked over to her father and looked up at him, "Daddy?"

"Yes, baby?"

"I-is Jinnie going to die like Appa?"

Taehyung dropped the bags in his hand on the floor and crouches down to his daughter, "Baby, what are you talking about. No Jin is not going to die like Appa. Why would you say that?"

"H-he does not look well, and he keeps leaving and hiding like Appa did when he was sick." Tears started falling out of Minji eyes, and it broke Taehyung's heart all over again. He understands exactly what his daughter meant.

When his husband had gotten sick, he was in and out in the hospital all of the time. And when he had to do chemo, Minji had to stay away, especially when she had the flu, which her Appa would have caught because of how weak his immune system had gotten.

During his last days, Minji saw her Appa less and less, and now she thinks that she will lose Jin because he has not been doing what he used to do for her consistently two days in a row now.

"Baby, no, Jin had to spend time with his brother today, but he will be back tomorrow."

"You promise?" Minji looks at her dad with hope in her eyes.

"I promise, baby, I promise."

"Where is your brother?" As soon as he had put Minji to bed, he picked up the phone and called Jimin.

"Well, hello to you too, Taehyung. What do you mean, where is my brother?" Jimin asked him, confused.

Taehyung explained everything to Jimin, telling him the text he had gotten from Jin.

"I haven't spoken to or seen Jin since yesterday. He is ignoring my calls, I was going to stop by to see him tonight, but now I know he is not there; it makes no sense. I don't know where he is either." Jimin said with a deep sigh.

"What's going on with him, Jimin? He has been acting very weird. He was always weird and full of attitude, but these past few days, he is a lot worse. This morning he seemed as though he was in a lot of pain but wouldn't admit it."

"He is going through something personal, and right now, I can't share that with you. He probably needed the night alone. I know where to look if he is not back by tomorrow, but let's leave him tonight, I am sure he will be back to your house in the morning."

"He better. I promised Minji that he would be here. I didn't realize my daughter was so damn attached to your brother. She thinks he is dying as her Appa did. Do you know how hard it was for me to hear that? I wish you could tell me what's wrong with him, too, maybe I could be more understanding if I knew what was wrong, but I don't, and it's frustrating."

"I wish I could tell you too," Jimin whispered to himself.
