Six months later

"I don't understand him." Jin slumped down into the chair and tugged at his hair in frustration.

"What happened now?" Dr. Mel inquired, taking out her notepad. Seokjin rarely visited her anymore, and whenever he did, he usually showed up like he was now.

"It's been six months, six months!" Jin screamed out his frustration and continued pulling at his hair.

"Seokjin, what's going on? Did you and Taehyung fight again?"

"No, we didn't, but we are about to. I mean, come on, how can you claim you are my boyfriend, and all I can ever get from you is a kiss, not even a kiss with tongue, but the kind even freaking Minji I am sure gets. How is this even a relationship? I think he is playing with me. All we do is go on dates, hang out with Minji, write out our feelings, bury our past, like fuck, what am I an experiment?"

Jin was annoyed with how his relationship was going with Taehyung. After reluctantly agreeing to give Taehyung a chance. He cut ties with Yoongi, not that he had much choice, Taehyung had changed his phone and gotten him a new number to ensure he had no communication with any of the men from his past. He got restricted from drinking too much wine, which he did for Minji and not for Taehyung.

He googled and joined chat rooms secretly to understand the meaning of having a boyfriend, some of the things he was excited about. He had started seeing ways in Taehyung he never knew existed, however as much as it all appealed to him, he never let his guard down. However, after three months in, he started to relax, allowing Taehyung to lead on their dates as he learned that from one of his group chat, he was in and after listening to Jimin and Jungkook's advice, he caved some more.

Taehyung, by the internet definition and Jungkook, was being a 'good' boyfriend. He frequently surprised Jin with trips, took him, and Minji shopping. Had them go to cooking class together. He even developed a plan for them to work on their past. Jin couldn't count how many times he wrote his feelings down and buried it with plants in Taehyung's backyard.

He couldn't deny it; it helped him. Things he didn't want anyone knowing, he was able to write it down, getting it out of his system and bury it with confidence that no one was going to look, at least not anytime soon. As he had promised Taehgyung that one day after the plants grew, whichever one grew first, they would talk about which one of their pain made it grow. At first, Jin thought it was a sick idea, but upon doing the first one, he kind of liked it.

For the most part, everything was going okay. Taehyung wasn't forceful; he didn't shout or try to overpower Jin. He was oddly nothing like the person Jin had known before. The only time Jin saw a hint of his dark side was if someone winked or flirted with him while they were out. Which caused an argument with them several times.

Jin tried his best not to flirt back with anyone, but it was hard, especially when Taehyung showed him no interest sexually. He barely kissed him on the lips. Even if Jin tried initiating anything, Taehyung would put a stop to it and tell him it was time for him to go home. Jin was beyond frustrated. It was going on close to eight months since he had sex. His toys weren't doing the job he needed it to do.

Whenever he tried talking to Taehyung about it, Taehyung would tell him "patience." Like what the heck was that even supposed to mean?

"You still haven't had sex?" Dr. Mel asked knowingly.

"No! I don't get it, and he wants me to be exclusive with him, how can I be? You know I saw Yoongi recently."

"Please tell me you didn't sleep with him." Dr. Mel looked at Jin hopeful; Jin had been making so much progress in the past months, though she rarely saw him, every time she met with him, she could see it.

Jin let out a heavy sigh, "No, Minji was with me. We were on our way to the movies. It wasn't a planned meeting. But I wanted to reconnect with him, even just for a day."

"To have sex?"

"I guess, you know Tae is not bad, he has been good, but I just don't get it. He wanted us together, I agree, but he shows me no type of affection. I mean come on, I have needs, he has got to know that." Jin was shaking his leg and staring around the room.

"I think he shows you affection, Seokjin, lots of it, but just not in the way you want it. Sex is not the only way to show one's affection. You have never been in a relationship, so I am sure this is new to you. What he is doing right now is commendable, considering your past and the experience you have had. He is showing you something different; he is showing you that you are worth much more than sex to him.

Your perception of what a relationship is supposed to be like needs to change for you to understand what he is doing for you right now. You don't need to be having sex right now, what you need is to allow this man to appreciate you, as you are, clothed in your truth and showcasing your real self. Not the person you created to deal with all your problems. I know you don't have a clue what that feels like, but you have to let go of the past to gain something real, to obtain what he is trying to give you."

Dr. Mel watched as tears ran down Jin's face. He kept silent, not uttering a word as he chewed on the inside of his cheek. She got out of her seat, and for the first time since being his therapist, she hugged him.

"I know it's a lot for you, but you are making so much progress, I am so proud of you. Don't let the urge for sex destroy your life any more than it has. You have a good guy right now willing to give you the world, take your time, let him love you, and show you the parts of life you have missed out on."

"H-he wants me to go back to school," Jin said through his tears, hugging back his therapist.

"That's good, and you should. I think that would be very good for you too. Let's continue to take things slow. Every time you feel the urge to want to run or do something you know you should, pick up the phone and call me, I will come to you, even if I have to. Okay?"

"Okay."

"Is that a promise, Seokjin?"

"It's a promise, Dr. Mel."

Dr. Mel leaned her head back to control the tears; she was so proud of the progress Jin had been making, and working with Taehyung alongside Jungkook made healing Jin a lot easier. He had been through so much that even when something was good, he saw it as bad. Which no one could blame him for; the trauma of his past controlled his mind.
