Eudora sat across the table from her aunt Acacia, eating her dinner sluggishly, bit at a time with her silver fork in complete silence. She didn't know what to say and secretly, she felt ashamed of what had happened that night at the Founders day parade. Since she returned home, healed from vampire blood, she had taken a nap and awoke screaming in her sleep, now her aunt had forced her to stay in one of the many bedrooms of the house. She thought she had gotten past that by now.
A few months ago, she would not have found it at all uncommon for her to wake up from a terrible nightmare but too quickly she had feel accustomed to the serenity of a peaceful nights sleep. Acacia seemed lost on what to do for the girl, but Eudora was a fighter and she had been doing very well on her own so far. The aunt knew that if it got to hard, Eudora would go to her... it was just the kind of bond they shared.
Acacia's phone beeping was the thing that broke the silence. Without anyone there to tell her off for it, Acacia looked at her text message at the dining table.
"Oh, shit" the responsible adult axclaimed and the blonde sat forward in her seat.
"What?"
"It was Jenna, John has been taken to the hospital, she wants me to meet her there" the woman informed. Jenna and Acacia were incredibly close, friends since school and recently bonded as they were thrust into the guardianship role. They needed one another and were quick to jump into action in a crisis.
"Okay, go quickly, I will clear this up." the younger of the pair responded hastilly, deciding to miss out the fact that she no longer liked John Gilbert, the man who had tried to murder her only earlier that night. It had been a long day, she had been home all but two hours, showered, napped and ate and now it was time for round two.
Just as Eudora cleared up her mess from that evening, she recieved an urgent invite to the Gilbert residence. Stress loomed over her, half of her extended family currently sitting in the local hospital, Caroline close to death and Eudora could easily have been dead herself.
Eudora hummed as she made coffee in the Gilbert family kitchen, Stefan was upstairs patrolling around where Jeremy was sleeping like he was the armed guard or something. The witch was much less tense, stress was such a regluar factor in her life that she was taking it very well, especially considering she almost died a few hours earlier. The front door creaked open and Eudora looked down the corridor.
