"You know, Creepy Shane is even creepier in the darkness" Eudora mused and Stefan rolled his eyes but pulled her closer to him. She was clearly bored and therefore, taking that boredom out on the man.

"You know I can hear you" he prompted and she beamed.

"Oh, I know" was her only response, and it was clear that she had intended for him to hear. The others were still finding her running commentary entertaining but they mutually agreed that the cute would become annoying in an instant if she kept it up. The group were on edge as it grew impossibly darker.

"Centuries after the Silas debacle, there was a mining excavation on the island. The miners went mad, bled themselves dry for no apparent reason." Shane decided to explain and they all exchanged glances, Stefan's warning look the only thing from stopping his girlfriend from saying something rude. "So rumours spread that these miners, in exchange for a drop of their blood, saw visions of their lost loved ones in the well they were mining. The word travelled and explorers sought out the well to see if the rumours were true."

"So the well was magic?" Bonnie questioned from the back of the pack with Jeremy.

"Oh, yeah. Some people believe that the voices of the lost souls were just a wind vortex whipping through the caves. And the visions were caused by inhaling the island's poisonous plant life."

"And you guys still aren't sold on this guy being a creep?" Damon scoffed and Eudora nodded along furiously, showing her support- Much to his amusement.

"And what do you believe?" Elena ignored her friend and boyfriend.

"I believe it was magic. My wife and my son died within months of one another, so I decided to try the well out for myself. And I saw my wife, I saw her eyes. Her smile. My blood let me see her again." he recalled emotively and Damon glanced back at Eudora who looked just as suspicious as before.

"Yeah, got it" Damon hummed. "Don't eat the poisonous flowers." and they all continued onwards through the forest. For the first time since arriving, nobody said a word until they broke free from the treeline and a campground appeared in front of them all, in a clearing.

"What is this place?" Stefan persisted.

"According to the island lore, a group of college kids came here over spring break. A few weeks later, they were all found dead, completely drained of blood." Shane shrugged and the calm way he said it just made Damon and Eudora exchange a suspicious glance- There was something incredibly unnerving about the shady character and despite being heavily out of the loop, Eudora didn't trust him for a second. So instead, she preoccupied her time with assessing the 'camp'.

"Well that's lovely, some children died here and we're just going to camp?" Damon scoffed, arms spread wide on either side of him as he gestured to the general darkness of the desolate campground around them. Stefan pulled Eudora closer to his side, somewhat protectively and despite not needing the protection, it made her smile.
