Eudora made her way slowly around the corner of Allegra manor, her face completely void of emotion as she considered everything that had happened with Stefan, from the moment she had very first laid eyes on him. Her body slumped to sit beside the old pond, her back to the maze that they had once spent the day in together.
Nothing was ever going to be the same with them again, they could never be friends again and Elena Gilbert would never trust Stefan or Eudora fully again. Since things initially went wrong in mystic falls, Eudora had never considered leaving. It was her home as much as it was everyone else's but today, as she sat beside the lake, for the very first time, the idea of moving away was very real in her mind.
"You're seriously considering this?" Acacia's voice filled her ears as her aunt took a seat beside her. Acacia was prepared to do anything she needed to do for her only remaining niece and if leaving was the best option, she would go through with it.
"I can't keep ruining things for him" Eudora returned, tears spilling down her cheeks as they had been for the past week. She hadn't been to school in a long time now and Acacia covered for her every single time. "My sister are dead Acacia, my parents have abandoned me. Grams has died, and now I have ruined things with the one person who meant the most to me. Leaving him is going to be the most painful thing I have ever experienced but I have to do it, for him. I can't keep doing this to him, causing him pain. He deserves so much more" her tears were falling "he deserves to be with Elena, to spend every day experiencing a complete bliss with her in his arms, to love her unconditionally and one day call her wife. I'm going to live forever, until the day that he dies and I will miss him forever. But I can't intrude on his life anymore. I will return, if he asks me to, in a heart beat. But he needs time to know what he wants. He should be able to choose, without some supernatural bullshit getting in the way" she wept. "You don't have to come with me auntie, I know that you have a purpose here. something is coming for you. You can't miss it"
"Eudora, I would go anywhere with you. Okay? We will be back and whatever it is that I am destined for can wait until then." She smiled sadly. "You know that there is a lot we have to do if you are really serious about this" she nodded. Acacia and Eudora Allegra we're finally accepting defeat and leaving mystic falls indefinitely. They wouldn't go far, they would always be there on the edge if they are ever needed. But for now, they had to get away from the place that had caused them so much pain and Acacia couldn't help but agree because she needed it too.
The first thing they did was lock all the doors and the gate of Allegra manor for the last time, they couldn't allow anything bad to happen to the house that housed their family.
Next, at the graveyard, they cleaned the family crypt and left a single white rose for each of the sisters. Hand in hand, they returned home to collect the things that they needed most. Dust sheets were laid out, covering all the things they had not long since purchased. Eudora fully cleaned the annex for the first time in a month and shoved her necessities in a bag. Despite the pain she felt, she had never felt so free as she did in that very moment. She needed this.
