Eudora pushed the front door of the Salvatore Boarding House open weakly with a tired sigh, all she wanted was a hot shower and a sleep... and of course, she wanted Stefan Salvatore. And she wasn't disappointed....
Stefan had been waiting an awfully long time for Eudora to come home, her phone was clutched in his right hand as he watched the stars twinkling beyond the window and the clock clanged to show that midnight had arrived. In a town like there's, it wasn't surprising that he was worried for her but of course, he wasn't the controlling type.
When she finally walked through the front door, all the words on his tongue simply died at the sight of her. She was of course, absolutely stunning but in that moment, her face showed exhaustion and rather than saying anything, he took the room in large strides and was in front of her in a second. Glancing up into his eyes, her blue orbs held a storm of emotions he couldn't read.
"Hey, what's wrong?" His voice was hushed, worried. And instinctively, his fingertips ghosted along her cheekbones, her skin felt so fragile and he adored it. Eudora was so... innocent. Innocent but she would never describe herself in that way. He loved the utter humanity that she radiated for it held him to his own. Eudora was a breath of fresh air at every occasion.
"Nothing... nothing. I'm just tired" she smiled sadly and all he did for a long time was glance at her, taking in every feature painted so perfectly across her face. She was beautiful. But that wasn't his main concern in that moment, Stefan had eternity to memorise her beautiful expressions, right now he just wondered what was bothering her.
Eudora was clearly lying. Stefan knew her. But he also trusted her, trusted her more than anyone in the world to tell him the truth. Eudora would go to him when she needed him and he would be waiting to give her whatever she needed. The blonde witch had gone through a lot recently, more things than he could count and he didn't blame her for her sadness. He would have been more surprised if she had continued to be okay with it all.
"Have you eaten?" She shook her head at his innocent question and he flattened her hair before taking her hand. There had been very few times that Stefan had had chance to care for Eudora, the blonde witch was usually strong and independent but with Stefan, she didn't need to be. The blonde girl didn't have to keep up a pretence around him and so as she stood beside him at the stove, her gaze staring into the fire of the hob ring, Stefan cooked her an omelette, glad that he could at least do something for her... even if it was only a small thing.
Eudora knew that the news would absolutely crush him and she wasn't sure that she could do it to him. She loved him more than anyone in the world, she was designed to love him and as they stood side by side, his mere presence began to ease her pain. She ate slowly, aware of the forest green eyes upon her but she couldn't bring herself to feel self conscious under his watchful gaze because Stefan Salvatore loved her back in equal measure. He was her other half.
"I heard that you've been helping Elena" Eudora mentioned quietly, not wanting to disrupt the peace and serenity that had fallen between them in this brief silence. After a long moment with no answer, she looked up to see Stefan's conflicted and guilty expression.
"I'm sorry... is... is that what's been bothering you? I just- well, I thought you wouldn't mind. She needed someone." He babbled on as if suddenly having gone through a great revelation.
"No, no that's— that's not it. I was just asking. I know Damon has been worried about it" she stabbed a bit of egg and he never moved his eyes off of her face, even when she broke eye contact.
"Hey, I would never betray you, Dora. Never. I need you to know that okay? I love you" he promised and she smiled up at him softly.
"I know Stefan." She replied and dropped the fork, reaching her hand across to hold his softly. "This is good" she smiled, gesturing to the food he'd made and he beamed back brilliantly, proudly as she scooped some up and fed it to him across the table. Eudora had never thought she would be the cringe relationship type, the type that made onlookers feel uncomfortable but she just loved him so incredibly that she grew not to care what the people around her thought...
"Are you tired?" She nodded, allowing him to dispose of the food they didn't want and take her hand. Caring Stefan was one of her favourite faces on him. Eudora had spent far too long caring for people, protecting those around her and sometimes she just needed a break... Stefan understood that and was always there to hold her hand.
Hi Guys, reading through your comments, I've seen that you are all questioning Stefan and Eudora's relationship and saying she's too good for him. But that's the whole point, Stefan isn't perfect, no one is but the point being that she loves him no matter the imperfections. Eudora had relatively low opinions of herself considering her past but Stefan makes her feel beautiful. Sometimes, it isn't about what everyone else considers good or bad for you, sometimes you have to do what makes you happy. I hope that has cleared some things up for you all. Let me know if you have any other questions or concerns.
