Christina P.O.V.

I drive down the roads of my neighborhood. I quickly try dialing Tris's phone. After a few minutes, her voicemail message comes on and I hang up. I've called at least 50 times in the last two hours but she hasn't answered.

As darkness begins to concur the sky, I run out of gas. I drive to the 7-11 near my house. I fill up my tank and go inside to pay. After getting a slushy and paying for both, I walk outside. On the opposite end of the parking lot than my car, a familiar red car sits.

As I walk over, I can see how packed the backseat is. The silhouette of a women has one hand touching her temple. When I reach the car, I knock on the window. Tris looks up from her phone. She clicks the unlock button on her door and I open the door.

"Tris, what happened?" I ask. She shakes her head and looks out the windshield. "You can tell me," I whisper.

"They kicked me out," she whispers. A tear rolls down her face. She hugs her knees to her chest and lets the tear fall down her face.

"I'm sorry," I whisper.

"I should have known. They never liked any my friends except you. And Will," she whispers. I put my arms around her and let her cry into my chest.

"Why didn't you answer my call and tell me," I ask.

"I don't know. I felt so alone even though I knew it was coming. I would have called you but you would've told everyone else. I'm not ready to face them all yet," she explains.

"What about Four?" I ask.

"I want to give him a few days. I don't want him to go after my dad and hurt him. He is going to try to play superhero and help," Tris explains. I nod, knowing the that she is telling the truth.

"You're right, he will," I reply.

"Do you mind if I stay at your house tonight?" she asks.

"Of course not. I'm sure you can stay as long as you want," I respond.

"Thank you so much, Christina," Tris tells me.
