Tris P.O.V.
I wake to an empty bed. Light peaks into the small bedroom through little cracks in between the curtains and the blinds. I roll over and Tobias's side of the bed is neat compared to mine. The blankets are pulled up land would be straight if I hadn't pulled them down the few inches during the night. His pillow has no wrinkles. I take a quick peak at the alarm clock. 9:47 it reads.

I walk out of the bedroom. The bathroom door is ajar and no lights are in. Everything looks like it is in the same order is was last night. Figuring that he went out to get breakfast for us, I sit on the couch and flip through the channels.

30 minutes later, he still hasn't returned. I go back into our bedroom and unplug my phone and charger from the outlet. I open up messages to send Tobias a quick text.

Hey. Whatcha doing? I woke up and you weren't here. Are you getting breakfast? I can come meet you if you want.

I sit on the couch in the living room a little while longer with no reply. I stand up and look at the clock on the stove. It reads 10:53. Knowing that it's useless to wait around, I walk over to a cabinet and pull out a mug and hot chocolate mix. I prepare it and stick it in the microwave.

As I wait, I see a key next to the stacks of paperwork I still need to do. I turn my attention away from the revolving cup to the papers. I walk closer to it and a note is sitting next to it. I pick it up to see what it is. The message is shocking.

Tris,
I'm so sorry I have to do this. I want to be with you in New York. I just feel it isn't the best decision for us. I'm proud of you for being such an amazing person. You don't need me for that. You will make an excellent mother. I believe in you and I know that you can stay in New York for as long as you want. This is the best decision for us. And that is why I have to leave. I left money for you in my pillow case so you can pay for the apartment and our child. I didn't want to do this, Tris. I will be back for you, though.

I will always love you,
Tobias

I crinkle the note up into a ball and throw it across the room. My hot chocolate beeps in the microwave but I ignore it. I walk into the bedroom and pull out the cash. The money from the furniture is here and then some more. I walk back out to the kitchen and pick up my phone. I dial Christina and she picks up on the second ring.

"Tris! How is New York?" she asks.

"Tobias left," is all I can reply with.
He really left guys, sorry. I'm sorry that it had to be this way... It just did. Please comment and vote!
