Tris P.O.V.
I look in the rearview mirror one last time. My hair frames my face in long, blonde curls. My makeup looks stunning. I have on a silver necklace with matching earrings and gray heels. My dress flows to the ground. I fix my lip gloss one last time and place it in the little gray clutch.I walk into the gym. On one side, tables, a punch bowl, and refreshments are set up. On the other side, a stage is set up to look like a palace. White streamers hang from the ceiling and walls along with white fabrics.
I walk towards to the table where, surprisingly, all of my friends are sitting. Zeke sees me and his eyes grow. I shake my head and he nods once. He and Shauna match with a share of royal blue. Her dark hair is curled and hangs down to her shoulders. Her dark blue dress looks elegant on her.
"Dude, it's pink," Zeke tells Tobias. At this point, everyone but Tobias has seen me. I shake my head and they all seem to get the message.
"Zeke, for the millionth time tonight! It is salmon," he says. Zeke opens his mouth to respond but I cut him off.
"It's pink," I say. Tobias turns around and hops up from his seat when he sees me. He hugs me. His gray suit and pink tie fits him perfectly.
"I thought you weren't coming," he says. I smile and lead him over to the table.
"I had a new inspiration," I say. I sit down next to Marlene. Her dress is yellow. It's strapless with rhinestones on the top. Uriah's suit matches it.
Through our the night, we enjoy each other's company and dance. As my feet get tired, I take a seat next to Lynn. Her dress is burgundy with rhinestones on the bust. We watch the couples in silence.
"They're the perfect couple," Lynn says. She motions to Christina and Will. As Will spins her around, her purple dress flies up. It makes her look elegant.
"You wish he asked you don't you?" she nods and glances in the direction of Ethan Stephens, her crush. He is standing against the wall.
"He didn't ask anyone," she says. I stare at her for a few minutes.
"Ask him," I say. Her head turns around and states at me.
"I can't. It's prom, not Sadie's Hawkins," she says. I roll my eyes,
"It doesn't matter. Just do it" I say. She stands up and glances in his direction.
"Are you sure?" she asks. I nod. She walk over and they talk for a few minutes. Then, he takes her hand in his and they walk out and the dance floor.

"Okay, everyone! It's time to crown our prom court!" one of the cheerleaders who is in 11th grade says. I glance over at Lauren. She stares me up and down. Tobias notices and puts his arm around me."First, prom king," she says. She opens up an envelope and pulls out a card. "Four!" she squeals. Tobias stands up and walks up to the stage. A crown is placed on his head.
"And now for queen," the cheerleader says. She opens up an envelope and her eyes search the crowd. But, my are staring at Lauren instead.
"Tris Prior!" she calls. My eyes lock on the stage. I walk up and a tiara is placed on my head. "Now, for the king and queens waltz," she says. Tobias leads me off the stage. I put my arms around his neck and places his hands on my hips.
"I love you, Tris Prior," he whispers.
"I love you, too, Tobias Eaton," I whisper.
