Tris P.O.V.
Zeke didn't get in any trouble. The woman was actually just some lady that Hana used to work with. Hana couldn't stand her. But, She wasn't happy about the party. Her only condition was that Zeke had to clean up the mess. So, we thought it was only fair that we helped.
I pick up the half empty cups that remind me of easter eggs hidden in a forest. We work in silence but I sing under my breath. I feel that if I sing the right tune a bunch of forest creatures might come and help us but I hold it in. When my area is clear, I grab the broom and sweep up the finger foods scattered across the floor. We work for hours until the house is clearer.
Everyone is going to stay but I have to get home. I have been getting these weird vibes from my parents lately. I think they are trying to spend more time with us because we have branched out since the begining of High School and we are leaving soon. Or at least Caleb is. He already has his first four years of college figured out. All exspenses free, too.
I say my good byes to everyone and walk out. I walk out to my car and cut on the radio. I ride down the road, humming to music. When I get out of the car, I feel that something is wrong. I can see my father pacing in front of the window and my mother is sitting in her chair by the window.
I walk in and my mother has a concerned look on her face. My father stops pacing when he sees me. "Where were you?" he asks.
"Um, at Zeke and Uriah's house," I say.
"Why weren't you answering our phone calls?" he asks. I'm honestly scared. I have a feeling I'm in for a lot of trouble.
"My phone was dead when I was about to leave home so it's upstairs charging," I explain. I have a feeling this is a serious problem. It's the truth. I have a feeling my father is still going to say that it is an excuse for being immature.
"Beatrice, You need to be more mature about things like that! We very worried about you. Ecspesially, after what we found out last night!" He exclaims. I look at him, confused. How did he find out about last night?
"Um, what about last night?" I ask. He throws his hands up in the air like I should know exactly what he is talking about.
"Hm, how about that party? The one you were drinking at?" he asks. How did he find out? I just sit there and stare at him. He must take this as a sign to continue. "What am I supposed to do when I go into work and a lady I work with tells me that she saw my daughter out at a party last night? I had more faith in you, Beatrice. I really did."
I look at my mom for help. She is staring at her lap. She doesn't like to punish us. She is always at home with us while my dad is off at work. He doesn't know us like she does.
"I'm sorry, dad! It just kind of happened," I say. It isn't comletely a lie. I was only doing it to win a game.
"Well, then how did it happen?" he asks, with his eyebrows raised.
"We were playing a game and-" I start but he cuts me off.
"Playing a game? So these are the type of people you hang out with? If the people that you are friends with expect you to drink then you should find new friends," he states.
"Dad, they didn't force me to do it! It was my choice to play the game!" I yell.
"So you lied to me?" he asks.
"Dad! It was a game. It happens!" I exclaim.
"Beatrice, you are grounded. You can't use your phone or computer for the next week. And you can't see you friends for the next couple of weeks," he says. I stare at him. My jaw drops. He has never gotten this tough on punishments. I march up the stairs to my room, refusing to accept my punishments. I go into my room and slam the door.
I crawl out my window and onto the tree outside. And I stay there until I have to go to bed and I end up falling asleep.
So, I know this isn't the best chapter but... I just thought the story needed something like this. I'm sorry I didn't get this up last night. I tried but got distracted. Please comment and vote. I also love ideas!
