Michael's POV

We get back to Alex's house and her dad meets us by the door. "Hey sweetie," he says kissing her cheek and patting my shoulder. "How was the birthday weekend?" He gives me a interested look and I laugh. "Really good, he's a bit hungover though." Alex smiles at me and her dad chuckles. "We've got medicine for that, Mikey." Her mother walks towards me handing me headache medicine with a small glass of water. "Did you drink, Alexandra?" Her dad asks and I see her cringe at him using her full name. I laugh to myself taking back the pill to cure my headache. "Only a little. I hung out with Mali most of the night but it was really only two or three drinks. Nothing to worry about, daddy." She confesses and her dad seems cool with it. "I'm gonna go shower, okay?" She tells me and I half smile at her. She hugs at my waist and kisses my lips right in front of her parents. My cheeks turn red as I see her parents smile at one another and my nerves go away. When Alex walks upstairs, I go to grab our bags and her dad grabs my attention. "Hey Mikey, when you're done with that, you wanna watch the rest of the game with me?" He asks and I smile. "Yeah definitely. I'll be right down," I grab both of our bags and head up to Alex's room. I take off my shoes and don't bother straightening them out just to piss Alex off. I set my hat on her desk and start to fix my hair. As I look around Alex's room, I notice her notebook sitting on top of it. I see the word 'IDIOT' scribbled across it and I'm so curious to know what it says inside. I hear the shower running but I'm still cautious about getting caught. I feel tempted to read it but I don't want to keep Dan waiting. I throw my hands in my pocket and go down to the living room. "What's the score?" I ask taking a seat next to him and grabbing a handful of pretzels from the coffee table. "We're not up by much," he says and I focus on the TV. Alex's dad is the absolute opposite of mine. He cares so much about Alex and he has no problem doing anything for her. The way a real dad should. He's always treated me like the son he never had and I really appreciate it. I begin to think about if Alex were to go on tour with me and I know out of everyone, he'd absolutely lose it. Fuck. That just further supports the idea that I definitely could never do that. "Hey Mike, I, uh I actually need to talk to you about something, if that's okay." I rub my hands on my jeans and I'm starting to get nervous. "Yeah, of course. What's up?" I nod in assurance and he lowers his voice. "I ran into your dad the other day,. . ." He begins and I'm already trying to remain calm even at the mention of my dad. "He told me that you and Alex decided to take things to the next level in your friendship," I feel really anxious so I just nervously nod giving him my full attention. "Son, I know how close you guys are and I can see that she's happy but you're leaving with the guys again soon, and I -. . ." I should have expected that this was where this conversation was going. I'm on the verge of throwing up and my headache is coming back. "Mikey, you don't know what it was like for me to see my baby girl in the hospital because she was so sick," he starts to get choked up and now I'm starting to feel sick. I'm so overwhelmed and I can't stand hearing this. "I need you to end things with her, Michael. I can't sit back and watch my daughter go through hell again. You two being in a relationship will only make things. I hope you understand that," I scrunch my nose trying to hold back tears. "I know it's hard, son, but if you want what's best for her, you need to leave her behind. She'll move on eventually," he says quietly and I immediately hear footsteps come down the stairs. "Hey princess," Dan smiles up at Alex who is running a towel through her wet hair. I can't let her see that I'm falling apart on the inside. I stand up and I can feel the awkward tension in the room. Alex and I walk into the kitchen and I get myself a glass of water. "Babe, is it alright if we go back to the band house instead? I promise the guys won't bug us," I'm trying to control my breathing taking a sip from the water. "Yeah, of course. Is everything gonna be okay with Calum?" She asks and the fight we got into completely slipped my mind. "Rehearsals start tomorrow so I'll talk to him about everything." She smiles at me and I swear I've stopped breathing. "I'm gonna go check my laundry downstairs but I'll meet you back upstairs," she sweetly smiles at me and heads to the basement. I totally avoid her dad and hurry upstairs to grab my stuff. I start to have an anxiety attack in the middle of her room which causes tears to fall. Fuck. I quickly wipe my eyes and rummage through my bag for my phone. I come across the bag of weed Jack gave me last night and I put it into my pocket. I grab my snapback from Alex's desk and notice her journal again. My stomach sinks and I bite my lip to fight anymore tears. I take the notebook and bury it into the bottom of my bag. My mind is all over the place and I'm so eager to leave. I meet Alex by the door and her dad hugs her goodbye. "If I don't see you again before you leave, good luck out there, mate. It was good seeing you," he hugs me tight and I clench to my bag. "Thanks, Dan," I say to a near whisper and he gives me a sympathetic look. We get into the car and I'm glad that Alex offered to drive. I'm feeling exhausted so I hope I'm able to stay up with her tonight. "You okay, babe?" She asks clearly catching on to how I haven't said a word. "What? Oh yeah, I'm good, I'm just tired." While she drives, she sings along to every song on the stereo and I can't stop staring. "How was quality time with my dad?" She asks with ber full focus on the road."If you want what's best for her, you need to leave her behind," I understand completely why Alex's dad would ask me to break up with her but I don't know if I can physically bring myself to do that. "It was good, he's a cool guy." Fuck, now would be the perfect time to talk to Calum about this but I'm sure he still hates me. We get back to the band house and the guys aren't back yet. "Have you talked to any of the lads today?" I ask Alex looking around for any sign of them. She shakes her head and I'm kinda glad to have the whole place to ourselves. I grab at her hand and pull her in for a tight hug. "What's this for? Are you okay?" Her voice is muffled in my chest and I just want to keep hugging her. "I'm just sorry for being an ass in the car. I should've never yelled at you," I say into her hair and neither one of us has bothered turning on a light but her eyes still shine when she looks up at me. "Stop apologizing to me for everything. It's okay, Mikey."

"Can we go for a late night swim? It's so hot. But I have to study later though," She joyfully asks and my mood is instantly boosted. "Thats fine. We can do whatever you want, Alex." I'm beyond exhausted so maybe spending some time in the pool will help my mood a little. I remove my skinny jeans and shirt and reach into the pockets to grab the weed. Minutes later, Alex enters the kitchen in her small black bikini and my dick is already hard. "What are you doing?" She asks holding onto two towels and setting them on the counter. "Will you smoke with me?" I quickly ask her and she nods. "You look hot, by the way." I grab onto her waist and suck at her bottom lip. Her nipple piercings are slightly visible through her top and I'm in the mood to fuck her senseless. She turns me into a fucking mess. We continue to make out in the kitchen and I playfully lift her onto the counter and stand between her legs. She lightly moans into my mouth and my skin tingles. "Maybe I won't need that swim after all, seeing as you're already making me wet," she whispers biting my lip and now my dick is throbbing. Holy shit. "Goddamn, you're so horny today," I say and she smiles. "Because my babe is so damn hot." My stomach sinks when she calls me 'her babe.' Before things get too out of hand, I throw her over my shoulder and bring her outside. "Michael, put me down!" She screams kicking her feet. Eventually she latches onto me like a koala bear and rests her head on my shoulder. I set her to her feet and begin lighting the joint. She walks over to the outside radio and finds a song to put on. My mind starts to feel clouded as she sits on my lap. "I'm so glad we're alone," I say handing her the joint.  I kiss at her collarbones and she starts to laugh. She stands up to adjust her bathing suit and my eyes are glued to her. I push her into the pool then I dive in. She holds onto my waist and begins kissing me, water dripping down both our noses. "Your boobs are really nice," I chuckle a bit kissing at her neck. She moans a bit and I grunt pulling her closer to me. I back her up against the side of the pool and I gently suck at the skin on her chest. "Mikey, are you sure everything is okay?" She whispers. I'm so high and she's driving me crazy. "Yeah, I just love you so much," I confess as I try to block out everything her dad said to me earlier. She grabs my chin and kisses my lips. She wraps her arms around my neck and I close my eyes gently kissing her back. I slowly grab at her tits trying to remove her bathing suit top. The sound of the screen door opening catches our attention and I turn around to see three tall silhouettes walking towards the pool. Damnit. "Holy shit, you guys are too damn cute," I hear Ashton giggle and I rest my head on Alex's shoulder. Alex smiles and it feels good to be affectionate towards her in front of the guys. "What time did you guys get back?" Luke asks and I'm surprised I even have any idea of what's going on right now. I space out for a second listening to Alex's heartbeat so I don't know what she's saying to them. "Did you guys smoke?" I think I hear Calum say and I turn to him. "Yeah, just a bit. You guys can finish it off, if you'd like." He cheekily smiles digging his hands into his pockets. "Thanks, mate."

As usual, the lads can't take a hint and they all sit around the unused fire pit, ruining my alone time with Alex. "I should really get some studying done before bed." Alex whines and I'm gazing at her lips. "Okay, loser. I'll hang with the lads, don't fall asleep on me," I tease kissing her forehead. We get out of the pool and I use the towel to cover my embarrassing hard on.

My body feels incredible and I don't feel as stressed as I was before. Calum looks over at me and the boys get quiet. "Are we good, mate?" He asks and I chuckle over nothing. "Yeah, man, we're good." I'm too high to properly make amends with Calum and I'm having a difficult time even thinking straight. None of the boys decided to smoke so I feel like I'm being annoying, but its always good laughing with my mates. "Rehearsals start tomorrow, lads. This next tour is going to fucking rock, I'm so excited." Ashton shouts and we all agree. "Mate, have you talked to Alex about the tour yet?" Calum chimes in and I chuckle again. "Nah man, I'll tell her tomorrow or something," Luke hands me a beer and I take a sip. I'm surprised my eyes are even still open but I feel really good. "I'll let you guys have the room tonight. I can stay on the couch," I can tell that Calum is looking for every reason for me to bring up Alex to him and it's pissing me off because I'm trying not to think about anything. "Thanks, man." I avoid getting defensive and finish off the beer. "Just don't fuck on my bed," he jokes and I burst out laughing. "No promises," I fire back and he cheekily laughs. "I'm gonna call it a night. See you fuckers tomorrow," I slur walking inside the house to be with my girlfriend.

Well while she's still my girlfriend anyway.
