Mel POV

"Chris! We have to go!" I yell up to Chris. About 6 months after Ollie was born Chris and I had decided that we need to get back on track with the wedding. I wanted to get most of it taken care of before I started work again. Chris had only a few days off, but when he did, I made sure we were doing something.

Today we were going to test cakes and Chris insisted that we both go because he wanted to test with me. So, Ollie and I waited downstairs for Chris to finish whatever he was doing.

Ever since Ollie's birth, Chris and I had been crazed with my family. They are always wanting to see Ollie. Someone was stopping by almost every day. They were in love with him. I mean so were Chris and I, but then again, we saw him every second we were home.

It was crazy how at one glance you could see all me but then later I saw Chris in him. Ollie's hair was starting to take a turn to Chris's hair color, hazel nut-brown, but he still had my blue eyes. Although we had the same color, his were more beautiful and unique.

"Dada" Ollie said when he saw Chris finally coming down the stairs. I looked in his direction.

"Hey buddy!" Chris said approaching Ollie and me. He was basically jogging to us. Chris grabbed Ollie and held him up in the air for a few seconds before placing him on his hip. Ollie was giggling with an abundance of joy. I couldn't help but smile.

"You are going to make us late." I said trying to sound stern, but I ended up messing up and laughing anyway. Chris had never lost his smile, instead it grew wider.

"You're the slow poke." He said running to the door and opening it, leaving me behind. I grab my purse and Ollie's teddy bear and follow them out.

We walk on the sidewalk of the huge city which Oliver isn't used to yet. He puts his hands over his ears when he hears a loud noise and usually wants to come in my arms. It seemed normal for a 6 month old, nut everywhere we went was fast on food than in a car.

Oliver does just that when we hear the subway goes by. I take him into my arms, gracefully, and I put him on my hip. He rests his head on my shoulder as he puts his thumb in his mouth. Chris brushes out his dirty blonde hair out of his face. I look from Ollie to Chris, grinning. Chris was still staring, lovingly, at Ollie and I didn't mind.

Once we turned the corner that the cake shop was on, Ollie decided he wanted to be out of my arms, so I gave him to Chris, but he got even more unhappy. Chris gave him back to me, in efforts to soothe him, and I set his feet first on the ground. He hasn't learned how to walk and he wasn't great at standing either, so I held him up. It was the first time Ollie didn't want to be in our arms.

He was laughing and giggling. I rushed Chris to take a picture his "first steps." We were all laughing, smiling, and giggling together as we basically moved maybe a few inches (if that).

Seeing Ollie laughing from birth to now isn't unexcepted because Chris and I can never stop laughing together. We were just a naturally happy and laughing family. After a little bit of walking on his own on the sidewalk the little guy decided that was enough. He began to fuss so I put him back on my hip once more.

We entered the cake shop with awe. We all were. It was so beautiful and there was so many amazing cakes everywhere. I mean everywhere. Chris was getting excited and almost tackled someone trying to see the cake pictures. I knew how to control myself, but I felt just as excited. I went up behind him and told them about our appointment and we got right to in.

Ollie sat on my lap. I did this, primarily, so Chris wouldn't feed him too much cake. We spent about an hour there arguing joyfully which was better. We finally seriously discussed what the cake would be and came to a conclusion, so I turned to the women.
"I think we have decided." I said to her and she grabbed her pen and paper.

"And what will you be ordering?" She asked looking at us attentively.

"The white-" I was interrupted by Chris.

"The Lemon!" He shouted jokingly, believing he was hilarious.

"So the lemon?" The women asked in confusion, looking from Chris to myself. I hit Chris in the shoulder playfully as he was laughed and grabbed Ollie out of my arms.

"Sorry, please ignore him. We would like the white cake." I say looking back at Chris who happily playing with our son. His laughter could be heard throughout the shop, and I couldn't help but laugh as well. Although he made me frustrated, he also was the light of my life, my true love, and the one for me. He was everything that made me happy. When everything was wrong, his smile, laugh, and touch made it better. And now I two amazing people in my life. The love of my life and our beautiful and joyful son.
