I've seen an angel in my slumber
He glances down at me, hair as black as coal
Eyes a brilliant shade of Jade
he speaks in a low voice to me, a language only we can understand
"Let go" his voice echoes in my ears
I look around me and see a pit, filled with a vile dark substance, and extending from it are hands pulling me ever downwards
I look back at him, my pupils dilating
I feel the muscles of my body melt, my bones becoming a loose frame that used to home a person
I hang downwards, bowing to the weight of those grabbing me
My eyes glaze and I take one last breathe before I'm pulled completely beneath the surfacethe last fading image i see is his brilliance, the golden glimmer surrounding him
He has not broken his stone expression, his hands calm and firm
It fades black
The only thing I can feel is the fire burning intensely in my Vatican chest
The sounds of my exhausted sighs bouncing around the grand, empty cathedral halls of my arms, and my legs
The ends of my fingers and feet ignite
And I suddenly break surface tension, and take my second last breathe in that form
After the hands wither away from my frozen flesh, I take my first step.
The angel is gone, but I ignore this.
I am finally free from the dark
The only thing I see as I stare Into the fiery pit that was my anguish
Is that angel, staring through my reflection
The fires that ravaged my limbs have absorbed into my skin
I am gallantAnd I have always had the strength I needed to renew
