"Okay class, today we're going to be writing responses to Anne Franks diary," The class groaned, of course the teacher would plan that for the lesson. "It's not an essay, it's going to be twenty questions you'd ask her if she was still alive today, and for homework you have to come up with five more. I want the homework for Monday on my desk with no excuses."
Louis smirked at the boy sitting on the other table. The kid was called Harry Styles, the nerd who was moved up two years because of his intelligence. Some people in Louis' English class picked on him, most of the time Louis would sit back and laugh but that changed a week ago. He didn't like the thought of the useless boys picking on Harry for being sixteen or having to wear glasses or even because he has asthma. If that doesn't show how boring the school day is then Louis doesn't know what will.
"Oi, Styles." Louis' friend, Oliver, started to flick Harry's arm. The teacher was still chattering on about the homework so he wasn't paying attention. "Harry," Oliver tried hard to get the younger boys attention but he failed. As a last resort Oliver started to push Harry, not very hard at first but he obviously didn't like the lack of response from the curly haired kid, he began to push harder.
"Olly, cut it out you stupid twat. He's trying to learn." Louis sneered. It shocked him, honestly. He's never spoken to one of his friends like that before, especially over a little nerd.
"Sorry, Lou." Oliver sighed. The class ended and the students began to pack their stuff away and prepare to catch the bus home or wait for their parents to pick them up. Louis watched carefully as Harry picked up his pencil case, note pad and water bottle and neatly pack them away in his bag. He always did it, Harry was a very neat person. He didn't stuff his books in his backpack like all the other kids did, he was careful and almost had respect for his belongings.
"Alright mate?" Milo joined Harry's side. A feeling of jealously shot through Louis' body and he hated it. Milo was a twat and the other day Louis heard him talking to his friends about betting on who could take Harry's virginity first. "My mums out for a bit, so you can come to mine... We can play some games, have some fun." Milo's voice got deeper as he started wrapping his arm around Harry's thin waist.
"Um, yeah... Sure, I just have to, uh..." Harry looked around, trying to think of an excuse for Milo. Louis took this as an opportunity.
"Actually, Micky-"
"It's Milo."
"Whatever. Harry's coming to mine, aren't you buddy?" Louis winked discreetly at Harry, the younger boy quickly catching on and nodding violently while stepping out of Milo's reach and moving to stand beside Louis. Pride filled Louis' body as he knew he now had the boys trust.
"Fine, whatever. Don't catch an STD or whatever Lewis." Milo left the classroom. The teacher and the other students long gone, Harry and Louis stood awkwardly alone.
"Thanks for that..." Harry said shyly. His cheeks had a blush to them, a nice colour to match his pale skin. Louis thought he looked rather cute and couldn't help put run his hands through Harry's hair and nod, laughing.
"Don't mention it Harry." Louis started, his smile making his eyes squint, "My mums going out, so maybe you could come to mine? Don't worry, I haven't planned to try anything on you and I'm not in that bet those guys have."
Harry nodded and blinked a couple of times before asking, "What bet?"
"The bet Milo and his friends have, to see who can fuck you first." Louis regretted bringing up the bet, the bad language and the whole conversation with Harry when he saw the small boys eyes start to fill with tears and his shoulders slack.
"Is that why they're so nice to me? I'm such an idiot." Harry covered his face and turned to leave, running out the door and leaving Louis alone in the classroom.
"Brilliant," Louis sighed. "Absolutely perfect."

Louis decided to take the long way home, walking slowly and listening to his iPod. He chose the long way because he knew it passed Harry's house, sometimes he could see Harry dancing in his room if he looked in the right window.
Today he did see Harry in his window but he wasn't dancing, he was sitting by his window and looking up at the sky. Louis didn't like the look of sadness on the boys face and wanted to change it so he built up the courage and walked up to his front door.
Knocking until the door opened, a smiling girl with blonde hair appeared.
"Hello?" She was wearing a long skirt and a top, she looked pretty and about his age so Louis guessed it was Harry's sister.
"Hi, I was wondering if I could see Harry?" The girl nodded without hesitation. Did their mother miss the part about stranger danger?
"Of course! He's upstairs in his room, first door on the right."
"I know..."
"What was that?"
"Nothing..." Louis walked past her and made his way up the stairs. Lovely, now he just came across as a massive creep to Harry's sister. He found Harry's room easily. There were signs hanging on his door and he had to remind himself that Harry is two years younger than him.
"Harry?" Louis knocked on the door, not waiting for an answer and walking in. Harry was still by the window, but now his head was resting on his arms folded infront of him. His room was small, smaller than he thought anyway. It was blue white, the walls covered in carefully painted pop art. His bed was made and there were no clothes on the floor. Louis felt like an utter slob and made a mental note to always meet at Harry's if they became friends, "Hey, Harry..."
"Go away, please Louis."
"I just wanted to make sure you're okay." Louis never heard that tone in Harry's voice and he didn't like it. If he had any common sense he would've walked out the door when Harry asked.
"Yeah, I'm great thank you. I just found out from my old bully that I'm part of a bet for my virginity... Oh and did you know my cat just died?" Harry huffed, not even lifting his head from his arms.
"I'm sorry Harry." Louis took some steps, enough so that he could see Harry's body in the shadow of the slowly setting sun. He looked tired, his body not supporting him enough so his arms were shaking, though that was probably from him crying.
"Just fuck off." Harry spat, his body moving away from Louis. The older boy didn't leave, and instead sat down next to the boy on the sofa.
"I'm here for you." Louis said, not thinking about how much those words could mean to Harry.
Louis jumped when Harry's smalled body came in contact with his, the younger boy dropped his head so it was resting on Louis' thigh, his tears still not showing any sign of stopping. Louis didn't want to make Harry feel awkward so he began to run his hands through his hair, petting him like a cat.
The crying didn't stop until Harry fell asleep lying on Louis. During the hour that he spent comforting the younger, they had changed position. Harry was now sitting on Louis' lap and the older boy was running his hand up and down his back in a comforting gesture. It wasn't just crying for the whole hour, Harry blurted out some things that were bugging him and Louis' listened like they were the most important things in the world.
Soon Anne, Louis learnt both his family members names, called and asked for Harry's friend to head home. Agreeing on their friendship, they'd switched numbers. On the way home Louis didn't stop texting Harry. In the bath they didn't stop texting. In fact they stayed up until three in the morning texting each other.
