After Harry got his head to stop bleeding, him and Louis made up and they chose to forget what happened (though Harry still says Louis did it on purpose) so they decided to watch a movie together. It was probably twelve in the morning but Louis had a study break for school so he could revise for his last exam and Harry was on Christmas break.
"Does your mum actually worry about you?" Harry asked, forgetting the movie and moving so he could face Louis. The boy thought it was weird that Louis was always with him, making up excuses as to why Harry wasn't allowed to come to his house or that he never had to phone his mum to make sure it was okay to sleep at Harry's. It wasn't really any of his business but he was worried that something was wrong in Louis' house.
"Actually, no, probably not. Not that I care, I'm an adult. I don't need anyone to look after me." Louis didn't look Harry in the eyes, he didn't want to seem weak. He needed his mother badly, he couldn't cope and by staying with Harry he was blocking out the bad memories.
"What happened?" Harry sat closer to Louis, resting his head on his shoulder and draping his arm over Louis' tummy.
"You really want to know?" Harry nodded, "It's a long story..." Harry nodded again, a sad smile on his face. Louis sighed and began. "I was probably sixteen when it happened, um, my mum is an alcoholic and my sisters got taken away. I had four sisters, and I miss them so much Haz, I didn't know it was even possible to miss people so much. Uh, they didn't take me away because I was almost seventeen at the time... So, here I am?" Louis laughed half heartedly trying to play this off as a joke to Harry, but it was painful to talk about. As a big brother, he was meant to protect his sisters and yet they were subjected to vile abuse from their own mother.
"Lou I'm so sorry." Harry hugged him closer, promising in his head to find Louis' sisters and let them all be together again.
"It's fine, you didn't know. No one else does, not even Oliver or Stan." Louis let his head fall against Harry's and that's how they fell asleep,

Today was Harry's seventeenth birthday, Louis had graduated with honours and Harry was already close to graduating, being in the same year as him for English, the head teacher moved all of Harry's exams to this month so he could be out of school and in a new job or even university if he got good enough results.
"Happy Birthday babe." Louis kissed Harry's cheek, shoving his present in his hands. Harry was growing up. He was catching up to Louis' in height and was definitely getting stronger than him. His curly hair was now longer and more tidy. He had girls around him all the time but Harry only ever gave Louis his full attention.
About a month ago Harry came out as bisexual, worried that he wouldn't be accepted by his family and friends, he told Louis first. He cried, and Louis smiled, kissing Harry's head and saying it's okay because he's gay anyway. That night they spent time alone in Harry's bed just whispering secrets to each other. People wondered if they were together but they always denied and said that'd be awkward.
One night Harry came home from a party, Louis pulling him home and holding his bloody nose. They got into a fight, a man at the party was chatting up Louis and Harry didn't like it. The mistake Harry made was thinking the man was smaller than him but he was wrong and Harry had a bloody nose and a ruined white shirt but Louis loved him all the same. His little best friend was growing up and soon he'd be the one ending up relying on Harry.
"Sometimes I wish you were mine, so I didn't have to worry as much." Harry drunkenly told Louis. If Louis' didn't have to carry Harry home then he would've kissed him.
"I guess it is what it is, Haz." Louis spoke softly, not really wanting Harry to remember this the next day.
He didn't and Louis was a bit disappointed but he got over it.
Most the time they spent together, Harry was naked. They weren't having sex, Harry was just going through a phase. Any chance the boy had to take his clothes off, he'd do it. Louis looked a couple of times but it wasn't like Harry needed to know about that.
Sometimes Harry would come home from school crying and it'd break Louis' heart. He knew before Harry even said what was wrong and it pissed him off. Harry might be taller than him now but he was still his baby.
"Harry, tell me what happened."
"Just shut up for a second, you're not my mother or my boyfriend or anything. You don't need to look after me all the fucking time."
"Oh, so being your best friend is nothing now? Thanks a bunch, stupid prick." That was the first time Louis walked out of Harry's house with tears down his face and a pain in his chest. Harry didn't call, Louis didn't call. They didn't sort it out, they just forgot and moved on and the next day Louis was back at Harry's house, playing Fifa with him and laughing like they used to.
The next time Louis ran out of Harry's house crying was when Harry said they can't be friends because Harry's girlfriend didn't like them being so close. It was true, Taylor said in front of Louis that they can't be friends and what made it worse was Harry didn't protest, he said okay and broke off his friendship with Louis by saying "We aren't friends, please get out my house..." Louis didn't say anything, but mind came up with the next couple of steps. The now smaller boy ran out the house and spent the night crying and looking at the picture of him and Harry asleep that somehow magically appeared on his phone.
Harry showed up at Louis' house, three in the morning with flowers and a sad smile. He didn't think it was enough to show Louis how sorry he was but the flowers were roses so they were expensive and he even rented out a tuxedo and bought a portable speaker for his phone so they could slow dance to Louis' favourite songs.
"I'm so sorry Lou. I should't let a girl get inbetween us. She's gone and pushing you away was the biggest mistake I ever made." Harry held his arms open, waiting for his boy to hug him. It took five minutes for Louis to actually hug Harry, he was standing there crying and taking steps backwards and forwards, deciding if it was a good idea to forgive Harry or not.
"Just shut up." Louis sniffed, hiding his face in Harry's neck.
The roses lay forgotten on the floor as Louis straddled Harry, both of them grinding on each other and having a make out session on the wet grass from the snow and Louis' favourite songs playing in the background. Harry might have a short temper and Louis might be a whiny bitch sometimes but they're perfect for each other, that's why after all that they made a vow to never let people come between them again.
