ch. 45

(Katherine's p.o.v.) 

"How did we get to where we are at now? I feel like I just blinked and here we are." I suddenly after a few moments of silence.

 "I am glad though. I can't imagine what life would be like if we never happened. I don't like to think about it much." Liam tells me truthfully.

He looks me in the eyes and gives me a small warming smile. "You would probably be back with Dani or with some other girl. Me on the other hand... I am pretty sure I would be underground." I say glancing at the ceiling."

Don't go there Katherine." He tells me sternly.

 "okay, okay Boss man." I joke.

 Liam gives me a smirk and I feel my heart skipping a beat. How did we get here so fast? I don't understand.. feels like just yesterday I was coming home from school ready to scream and cry. Never would I have thought that I would be here, with Liam. I still can't believe I have Nathan. We could have had another, but because of stupid selfish me we lost her. I never understood why Liam didn't get mad at me.

 "Liam?" I question. 

"Yes, darling?"

"Why didn't you get mad at me?" 

"For?"

 "Loosing the baby."

 "Why would I be mad at you?"

"Because I am the reason why she is dead."

 "I would never be mad.. You thought you weren't going to live. Honestly, the doctors probably tried to save her. She just wasn't able to survive."

 "She should have. I am so mad at myself. It's not fair I get to live but she doesn't. How is that fair?" I cry out.

 "I don't know why she had to die, but it's what happened. Can't change the past, you can only learn from it. Learn for future purposes. Now we know the cost of you trying to commit suicide while pregnant." "I wish I could change the pass."

 "You can only change the future babe."

 "I know." I sigh deeply and cuddle into his chest.

 I breathe in his scent and I smile to myself. This idiot of a boy, I can proudly say, is mine. 

"We gots lot of planning to do soon, missy." Liam speaks up.

 "For- ohhh!! Yeah, I know." 

"Did you seriously forget for a second what we had to plan?"He laughs. 

"Whaaattt.. Psh.. no.." I reply back. 

"Whatever." He laughs at me again.

 His laugh is contagious and I hear myself laugh with him. "This is going to be stressful won't it?" I ask. 

"Yup." 

"Greaaaatt." I sarcastically say back. 

"We shall make it fun baby." 

"And how is that mister?"

I laugh. "I don't know quite yet, but we shall see. Got it missy?" 

"Got it, commander."  I sit up and salute him.  

He sits up laughing at me and I join in with him. He pulls me in for a kiss and I gladly return it. 

"We should probably head downstairs before the boys do anything." I laugh as we disconnect. 

"True." He agrees and slips out of bed.

I lean my head against the headboard and watch as Liam walks. He turns around and sees me staring. "Naughty girl." He laughs.

 "You're the naughty one here mister."

 "I don't think so baby. These scratches aren't from me." He laughs pointing to his back. 

"Shut up and put on  a shirt so you can go downstairs." I laugh.

 "Oh, you are coming down with me. I am not the only one going to suffer."

 "NO! Don't take me with you." I yell dramatically.

 Liam laughs while grabbing me bridal style out of the bed. He lifts me up and starts to carry me down.

 "The love birds are back." Louis yells excitedly. 

"We are in for a treat." Liam whispers to me. I giggle and shake my head. Liam puts me down and I go to find Nathan. I find him and Alyssa playing together and I sit back to watch. Moments like this I want to last forever. I watch as they pretend to cook food and eat it together, they look so happy right now. I really hope his happiness can last. I don't want him to turn out like I have. I would never forgive myself if he did. I would blame it all on me.

 "Mommy!!" Nathan yells.

 "Hi baby." I say getting up.

I run over to him and pick him up. "Momma missed you."

I kissed his cheek and hugged him tightly.

 "Do you want to play baby?" I let him and and he goes over to his toys. I crawl over to him and pretend to make food with him.

He picks up one of the toys shaped like a pear and tries to bite into it. "You can't eat it, silly goose." I laugh. 

"Are you hungry?"

 "Yeah." 

"What do you want?" I pick him up and go into the kitchen.

 "Alyssa do you want anything?"

 "Nah, I'm not hungry right now. Thanks though."

 I go through the fridge until I find something to make Nathan. I put him down and he starts to hug my leg. I laugh to myself and heat up his food. 

"That is so cute." Liam says walking into the kitchen.

 "He's adorable."

 Liam grabs his phone and I quickly turn around not wanting my face in the picture.

 "This is so cute." Liam says admiring the picture he took.

 "This is going to be my new wallpaper." Liam says to himself. 

Louis and Zayn walk in and comment about Nathan. When I look down he is sucking his thumb looking up at me. I hear Liam snap another picture and I feel my face grow red. I pick him back up and walk him over to the table.

 "Get his food in the microwave?" I ask Liam. 

"Sure thing."
