Growing up with someone you're close to is one of the best things you can go through in your life. To watch your friend, from as long as you can remember, grow up and go through life's stages, to watch how they dependently deal with everything they go through... it's always something beautiful to watch.

Denki and Eijiro have been friends for as long as they can remember. Their first steps were towards each other. Denki's first word wasn't "mom" or "dad" like any other child... it was "Eiji".

They've gone through their entire childhoods together. The term "brother" comes naturally and is always a way to make each other a bit softer for each other. If that's even possible.

They've changed a lot ever since they were little. From little introverts, they've grown into social butterflies, into extremely outgoing people. 
And the more they "develop" into those people, the more Denki begins to see Eijiro differently.

Something funny about the two is how both thought it was the "right thing", or 'completely normal' to like other boys. Only when their parents had heard them speaking of other boys was when they were let into the fact that 'normally', it's a girl and a guy. 
But they grow up being taught that liking other guys is "normal as well" nonetheless. 

Eighth grade is the time that Denki realizes that what he sees Eijiro as isn't a "brother by choice".
He sees him as inspiration... as an amazing, heart-stealing, attention-capturing person. He found himself thinking about him more often than he usually did, he found himself smiling at the thought of having the bright, bold, happy redhead be his first kiss, he gets giggly when he calls Eijiro "my crush" in his mind... his heart accepts it whenever he thinks that way, his heart wants Eijiro's. 

But then, high school started.

The two are stoked to have each other in the same class, and even more excited to see that both of them had made it one step closer to their dreams. 
And naturally... things happen.

It's high school. Hormones begin to develop like feelings do just as quickly. 
Within a literal week after they had started freshman year Eijiro brings something up during a sleepover he and Denki held.

Eijiro tossed his blanket over his legs and turned towards Eijiro, his head propped up on his hand and his elbow dug into the thin but cushioned duvet underneath him, serving as a bed on the floor. Denki loved his red eyes, they always sparkled no matter the lighting they were in.

"Dude," he began, as usual, "our class is so cool."
"I know right!?" He smiled widely. "I'm just happy you're in my class..." he comments.
"Me too--!" He hypes up. "Oh-- I gotta tell you-!"

Denki could hear that voice forever... he'd never grow tired of it.

"I think I have a crush," Eijiro whispered. 
Denki's smile faltered a bit, but he kept strong. His heart, his chest, they felt weird...

"Oh, yeah bro?" Denki asked quietly. 
Eijiro just nodded, his smile widened as if he thought of the special someone who gained his attention. "You saw him, I'm sure--" he continued quickly, "but dude. Bakugo...- he's really attractive..." he commented with a swooned tone, "he was so impressive during the exam!? His quirk's amazing-! And god, I can already tell he's someone who plays hard-to-get...-- I dunno,- is it weird for me to say I find him kinda hot...?"
Denki just listened to his rambling with a now fake smile.
