●The room's dimly lit, if it wasn't for the open window letting pure moonlight through, the room would have been much darker.
They sit across from the window, feeling the cold air of a silent night chill the dorm room like a brand new AC. The soft hiccups of crying stand closely aside the silence laying amongst them.
Neito sits across from Hitoshi, holding his arm with delicate hands as he wraps bandaging around the large scratches and cuts. He likes to focus on one thing at a time, even though hearing Hitoshi crying so closely and to himself bothers him.
He stands up to finish the work off, a simple few layers of bandages around Hitoshi's chest, and he'll be done.
He stands behind him silently, with the single and quiet words to tell Hitoshi to raise his arms lingering in the air. Hitoshi turns his head away, he's disappointed at how now, he can't stop his trembling. He's crying quietly, even though he doesn't want to. He feels as though he's bothering Neito.Neito finishes rather quickly, it wasn't too much of a hard work to complete.
He drops the roll of bandages on the bed, and his arms snake around his waist.
Hitoshi hiccups out another suppressed sob again and Neito's head leans against Hitoshi's."It's over now," he claimed quietly, "you can stop cry--"
"Th-They were am-mazing today..." he whined quietly, "their qu-quirks are so.. so good..."Neito's eyes lower.
It's becoming routine... like Neito feared.
Those students from class 1A always make Hitoshi's insecurities skyrocket... and he doesn't like that, he disagrees with all of the insecurities that he hears Hitoshi point out.He sits down behind Hitoshi and his arms adjust to a more comfortable spot, as he's mindful of the cuts and bruises.
His chin rests over Hitoshi's bare shoulder."I- I can't compete..." Hitoshi sniffles quietly, "I'm a bug compared to them... wh-why do I even try..."
For the past nights that Hitoshi have started doing this, Neito simply lets Hitoshi vent... he sits there and listens to, what he disagrees about entirely, as until Hitoshi's words drown out in tears and sobbing. Once he gets to that state, Neito swoops in and comforts him.
"O-One of them told me...- he said I... I should give up... th-that someone like me doesn't fit i-in the hero course..." he whimpered, "a-and I yelled at him... b-but I felt so bad...-- Th-The more I try to prove them wrong, the more I prove myself they're right!" He cried out. "I'm a monst--!"
Neito's hand moved up to over Hitoshi's racing heart.
He kissed down, delicately and sweetly, over Hitoshi's neck."You shouldn't listen to them..." he began quietly, "you really believe what lunatics say?"
He places another kiss down. "You're just as powerful as them, Hitoshi..."
"B-Bullshit..." he grumbled, "m-me not being in that stupid class proves my point...- they see me just like the other students do...-- M-My own family is ashamed, you idiot... c-can't you see where I'm coming from?"
"You made it to UA, moron..." Neito commented, "that's a big enough accomplishment, don't you think--?"
"I-I'm in general studies!-"Neito sighs. He gets up, which leaves Hitoshi regretting the outburst... he immediately thinks, 'Neito's gonna leave me...'
But Neito sat back down, in front of Hitoshi. He wrapped his arms around him again, and tugged him over his own body... to hug him tight, as if Hitoshi were one of the most comfortable teddy bears out there.
It's about time he's honest... with himself, and with Hitoshi. It's about time he unleashes what his heart wants to unleash. That's love, for Hitoshi. True love... undivided love. Unconditional love.
And he's tired that his love keeps kicking himself down... he's upset that his love doesn't believe in himself, not nearly as much as Neito believes in Hitoshi. Like he always has, from the shadows...
"You, Hitoshi, is the most important person in my life...- my life restarted when I met you...- I didn't know color until I met you." He confessed. "A-And I didn't know what pride really felt like until I saw you." He continued, "I- I love you. I love you, Hitoshi...-- A-And I won't stand you talking trash like that about yourself...- it's like seeing my life fall apart in front of me, and-... And I hate it."
Hitoshi's tears come all at once now, uncontrolled.
"I- I hold you so god damned proudly...- you're my prize, Hitoshi! Y-You're my gold between all these diamond wanna-be's!"
As he finds himself on the verge of confessing what he's about to confess, his eyes well up with tears as well. His grip tightens on Hitoshi.
"Y-You've saved me... so many times... from myself... i-isn't that what heroes do?! S-So WHY do you continue to call yourself a villain, if all you do is save people around you, you i-idiot?!" He cried. "Cl-Clueless... you're so clueless of how much I value you... how much my heart needs you..."
They sit there, clutching onto one another with a golden rope of love bonding the two together.
Hitoshi finally fell back down on the mattress. But his hand dragged out, down to Neito's jawline. They feel like it's time...Hitoshi is thinking it'll go slowly...
But Neito's just so filled with emotion, he can't hold back any longer. His hands get lost in the head of soft purple hair, tugging on it to pull Hitoshi closer.
When their lips collide, the need to cry cancels out.
All they can focus on is each other.
Their lips are even better than what each other imagined... having the ghost of a taste of peppermint from a late-night teeth-brushing routine.
The deeper the kiss becomes, the deeper in love they fall... neither want to part, neither want to let go.Neito's thumbs wipe Hitoshi's tears from his cheeks, caressing it delicately, sweetly. While Hitoshi's owned their natural warmth, inviting and encouraging a smile only Hitoshi has seen Neito shine.
Time rolls by unbothered... they part after what feels like an eternity and more. Breathless, the two stare up at one another, trying to gather their scattered thoughts.
There's no need to feel harsh at that moment... there's no need to present a single sour expression...
The atmosphere's too light to present it.Neito's hand remains over Hitoshi's cheek, which Hitoshi leaned against so calmly... so proudly...
"If you continue... to pay mind... to what selfish people say about you... then you'll never find the motivation to build yourself up stronger than what they are." Neito claimed. "Sometimes, Hitoshi, you must be selfish as well... you can't always be kind... you can't always be selfless... you must balance it out enough so that your person provides for both the public and yourself."
Hitoshi's eyes flutter shut, his lips linger of Neito's still. He nods slowly, his hand pressed up against Neito's on his cheek.
Their fingers interlock. Neito feels... a different type of love now, ever since their relationship started. He prefers this one... by a longshot.
"Consider yourself a hero too, Neito..." Hitoshi began, "because without you in my life... I'd be a lunatic with a blade..."
