Both teenagers felt terribly ill immediately after the bottle landed on the pair.
It's all a silly claim's fault, being put out by Denki how the usual group, along with a few lurking others should play a classic game of seven minutes in heaven. Except, in the absence of a closet, the group settled for anyone's own room.

They've never seen Katsuki react in such way... such a silent, yet startled and hesitant reaction from the usually-explosive blonde could have been actually concerning.
Hanta was the one who jumped in with the lost comment of "Are you sure it's not pointing to...?" on the loss of anything else to intervene with, while Katsuki tried to contain himself.

Both have a serious case of Hanahaki... Katsuki's is far worse than Hanta's.

Katsuki has had to skip school because of it... he'd been chased down after the fourth time and lied for his own sake... he completely refuses the surgery, in absolute fear of losing the memory of Hanta.
And, by his thoughts...
He thinks the surgery wouldn't matter.
He's sure that Hanta is someone he'd fall for again, anyway.

Hanta has considered the surgery once... but after second thoughts, he decided to give it another year. During that year he went out more... and tried to distract his heart from wanting Katsuki and into wanting someone else...

But he hasn't gotten any luck with that.
Katsuki is irreplaceable for him.

They're terrified of this moment... being locked up in a room with one another under the influence of presumably one-sided love is obliterating their courage and souls... they won't do as much as look at one another as the group hypes up the pair.

Once pushed into the room... chaos ensues.

"O-OPEN THE DOOR- OPEN--! H-Hhrk-!"

Katsuki can no longer stand from the force of retching over to either gag or cough up the white flowers. Hanta is on his way down as well, only clutching onto the doorknob as he desperately tries to get the lock to budge.

Katsuki would explode the doorknob in any other case.
But his mind is screaming at him to get it over with and tell Hanta the cause of his flowers... and his body is simply too weakened to even react that harshly.

Hanta is paying his fair share of suffering as well. He can't go half a second without having to spit out a petal or a full flower off his mouth... choking here or there from sobbing or gasping for air and suddenly inhaling a petal.

Katsuki is making his way closer to Hanta, to try and help him... whatever "help" he could provide at the moment. But his body feels weakened and he's, for once, far too hesitant and afraid to approach him.

And until Hanta sobs out a specific word, the situation worsens.
