Hearing Katsuki using his voice randomly was a way to warn the others that his hearing aids had given out.

His quirk is of no compatibility with the hearing aids, and he's gone through three of them already.

And his parents are slowly giving the teenager hints...

They can't keep putting money on them... they're expensive, and other things have to be taken care of.

The morning that Katsuki came crying towards the three was a hard one.

He ran into Shoto's arms while trying to cover his face, to try and hide that he currently cried... not being able to notice how he currently exhaled broken whimpers and untrained, pitch-changing wails.

It's got to be the hardest thing for them... hearing Katsuki go through something painful with the new disability.

Desperate as he becomes, he's not able to communicate what he feels... and, not being able to hear anything, his own voice is close to no good to be used for communication. 

Shoto held onto him immediately, the other two turned as if they'd heard the one thing that distressed them the most--
And they did; Katsuki, crying and sounding in pain.

"Katsuki-..!" Shoto began, "u-uh-! What happened--?"
"He doesn't have his hearing aids in...-" Izuku pointed out immediately.

Eijiro tugged Katsuki away from Shoto, and Katsuki covered his face with fists immediately. 

They find it immediately; Katsuki's hearing aids clutched tightly in his hands. 

"Hold on, sweetheart-" Eijiro began, "look up at us..." he mumbled in a pitied, sad tone.

Izuku lowered Katsuki's fists, and Eijiro lifted his chin. Katsuki looks extremely despaired.

Eijiro signs, "what is the matter?" And Katsuki pushes forward the hearing aids, crying and insisting that any of the three took the hearing aids, as if it would explain everything.

Shoto signs "Broke?", and Katsuki motions "water".

Their hearts sink. Eijiro tugs Katsuki in a tight, reassuring hug, muffling Katsuki's loud cries... what hurts them the most is how they're aware that Katsuki thinks he's being quiet.

Shoto takes the hearing aids away from him, fearing he'd genuinely crush them with his fists.
He and Izuku stay insistent and try to tell Katsuki that they would try their best to dry it off, in hopes it would fix it, while Eijiro stayed to comfort him.

"Baby... we told you to be careful with them already..." Eijiro mumbled to himself, against his head, pressing a soft kiss down at the top of it as they rocked side to side slowly.

Katsuki's crying didn't stop so soon. 
Shoto and Izuku didn't even tell Katsuki that, no, they weren't able to salvage the hearing aids, despite anything they did, and just decided to join Eijiro in comforting him.
