25. The Trek (Part 4) : Going to the Village

We finally took off of the camp, we started to trek across the North-eastern ridge, we should go pass by Base camp 6 at 27 200 feet, until were at 27 600 feet. We need to trek down again towards at the North-eastern ridge. The total distance of the point where the North-eastern ridge and where the camp 5 was is about 1.2 kilometers only, we have still 148.8 kilometers left to go.

A talk is happening while we are trekking. The heavy gusts of wind is preventing us from hearing each other even from a feet apart. We still have 146 kilometers to go...

-By Radio-

Dennis : "The time remaining time for the snowstorm will hit? "

Nafie : "24 hours, 45 minutes. Were still in schedule. But we need to be faster, we need to arrive there before the snowstorm hits. If we are unlucky, the 5 of us will be dead, no offense"

Christopher : "We need to be faster, I don't want to die here without being seen. We need upgrades for that"

Kent : "I agree with Storm, we need upgrades, like jetpacks"

Sairo : "Jetpacks? We could use jetpacks, if it would not freeze the fuel in just 4 minutes. The temperature here is -14 degrees Celsius, even water could freeze here in less than a minute, gasoline would be in 4 minutes tops. Any other request for upgrades, other than jetpacks? "

Nafie : "Helicopters, could be"

Kent : "Do you have an permit for that? "

Nafie : "Uhh, no"

Dennis : "So, we're not flying an helicopter here, Okay? "

Christopher : "Yeah, Night and Skrill is correct, you need to have an permit for flying a chopper in the Everest. Other than that, you couldn't really fly a helicopter near the Everest, because of the subzero temperatures and the strong gusts of wind could easily ruin the helicopter's flight and even freeze the helicopter's propeller. So the Nepal government decided that there wouldn't be a single helicopter AT the Everest. Yes, helicopters can be flew up here, but they should be 7 kilometers away from the Everest "

Dennis : "Stormcutter has a point, we need an upgrade, by land not aerial. "

Nafie : "I agree with Night"

Sairo : "Any Ideas? "

Moment of Silence.....

Sairo : "Wait, I do have one! "

Dennis : "Go on shock"

Sairo : "I almost forgot, Me and Christopher had brought three skis. Just in case we would go down a slope, so we would only slide on it to make our journey faster"

Kent : "Guys, sorry to cut you off, but we're at a gigantic slope of the North-eastern ridge. Probably we need something to go down faster than walking"

Dennis : "Wait what, were already here? "

Christopher : "Wait, let me take a peek....... Yup, it is the North eastern Ridge"

Nafie : "And the ridge is spiky"

I thinked about what Sairo said and finally came up with an Idea.

Dennis : "Sairo, you're a genius! Give me the skis, I have an Idea"

I grabbed the skis and told Sairo and Christopher to set their foot on theri skis...
