Haileys pov
I told Rory what we did and just as I thought she would, she teased me about it but I wasn't bothered by it anymore, maybe because he wasn't such an ass.
"Hey babe how was practice yesterday" I asked Kyle, as me and Rory met with him before class "it was really good, I'm feeling good and after we win tomorrow you'll come over right" "yes I will" I said as he put his arm around my shoulder.
"Uh Hailey" Rory said getting my attention as I looked forward at Isaac walking towards us. He had the usual expression on his face, the one that made everyone intimidated by him.

We stopped in front of each other before he spoke.
"And I paid for the coffee" he said handing me a coffee and a muffin before walking away. I was speechless and frozen for a lot of different reasons. First of all, since when was Isaac nice to me in school and second, Kyle is gonna blow up on me.

"Why would he give you that" Kyle asked "it's sort of a complicated story" "I'm sure you could explain it Hailey" "okay well we went to the store yesterday and he paid for the stuff then I paid for the food we got and he's just getting even I guess. I swear it's nothing" "why did you go eat with him" "we didn't go eat we were taking a break from the project and had to get something from the store and stopped to get food on the way back to his house" "so that hate you had for him went away pretty quickly don't you think" he said but I knew he was baiting me to admit I wanted to be friends with Isaac, he did this all the time "no it didn't. We're just classmates and partners because we have to be" "Hailey I need to know you mean that" "I really do Kyle" "make sure he knows that then" "I will I'm sorry babe" "okay" he said as I kissed him.

"Well that was close" Rory said "what do you mean" "you trying to pretend you still hate Isaac" "what I'm not pretending. We had a fun time but that doesn't change anything" "yea right Hailey. Since you faked that orgasm with Kyle you'd much rather be with Isaac than him. I'm not saying you want to be together with him but you'd rather hang out with him. And even if you don't like him, Isaac likes you" "Isaac has a girlfriend and I have a boyfriend we're working on a project" "last time I checked ice cream and burgers have nothing to do with a chemistry project" "okay Rory we might be friends but that's it so stop okay" "fine if you say so" "I have to get to class Rory" I said before walking away.

"Hey Jackson" I said as I got to the lunch table "hey, I uh talked to Rory" "about me" "yup. So is she right, do you like him" "no I don't. We're working on a project, at the most we're sort of friends Jackson" "sort of friends that get ice cream and food together, I don't know Hailey kind of sounds like a date" he said as Rory sat down "Jackson stop you both sound like Kyle. There is nothing between us" "okay okay" he said.

"So I am going out with Benny this weekend" Rory said after a minute of silence "wait really" "yup. I thought about what you said and it made sense so I thought I'd just give it a try" "good for you" Jackson said "yea I think you guys are gonna be cute together" I said "thanks guys. I know I've been saying I don't want to settle but he's really nice" "well I really hope it works out for you" I told her "thanks Hailey. Also I'm sorry. I shouldn't have said that shit about you and Isaac" "no it's fine really, forget about it okay" "yea" she said as I smiled at her.

"We're not taking your sister home" I asked getting in Isaacs car and it was only me and him "no Ricky took them to Natalies" "oh okay".

"Oh and thanks for the coffee and the muffin this morning" I said "yea don't mention it" "also uh maybe next time don't do it in front of everyone" "what" "I mean it was nice and everything but Kyle sort of freaked out about it" "oh. I wasn't hitting on you to let you know I thought we were uh friends sort of" "no I know you weren't and I uh thought we were friends sort of too but see Kyle gets really jealous easily" "yea I can see that. I'm sorry" "it's okay. I'm sorry I made it awkward" "no don't worry" he said but it was definitely getting awkward as we both got silent.

"Go straight to back yea" he said as we heard talking "okay" I said grabbing my bag, quickly and quietly following Isaacs instructions.

After about five minutes he came and sat down with me.
"Everything okay" "yea uh that was Andreas dad. I just had to say hi to him" "oh okay. Well then let's finish this" I said.

We finished in about three hours, talking here and there throughout the way.

"I don't know if you have anything to do now but I can go for some ice cream" I said when we were done "well we did buy four different kinds, best not to let it go to waste" he said standing up to go inside as I followed him.

"Which one do you want" he asked "cookie dough" "okay" he said grabbing cookie dough and mint chocolate chip and putting them into bowls.

"You want to watch something" he asked "sure" "okay" he said as I followed him to the living room. We sat pretty much on opposite ends of the huge couch as he handed me the remote.
I turned on Jumanji, mostly because it was one of the first things I saw and we ate our ice cream and watched it.

"Hi Hailey, Isaac" Dixie said walking into the living room "hi" "who dropped you off" Isaac asked "Natalies dad" "okay. Did you eat" "yes" "okay good" he said. She gave us one last look before going upstairs.

After the movie me and Isaac left.
"Hey Isaac I'm really sorry about the whole thing with Kyle" I said when we pulled in front of my house "Uh it's okay really, I'll see you tomorrow. Goodnight Hailey" "goodnight Isaac" I said going into my house.

Isaacs pov
"Hey dad" I said when I got back in the house "hey" "why was Mr. Ferrari here" "just business. It had nothing to do with you bringing another girl home three days in a row" "I didn't bring another girl home we worked on a project" "okay" he said shrugging before I went upstairs.
