Haileys pov
I went home that night and Isaac said he'd pick me up for the funeral on Thursday.
"How is everyone" mom asked "okay" "I'm sorry about your friend" she said hugging me tightly "yea. It's just unbelievable. I wasn't super close to Jessie but he was so sweet and he was really close with Isaac" "what time is the funeral" "5 on Thursday" "okay. Ugh it's always sad when anyone loses their lives especially a child" "yea. I'm gonna go upstairs though" "okay hon" she said hugging me again before I went up.

As I was putting on the black mid length dress, my door opened and Isaac entered in his black suit and tie.
"Hey" I said going over to him and kissing him "hey" "can you zip this" I asked turning around as he did so.
"How are you feeling" I asked "okay, a little tired but I'm good" "how's your arm and leg" "sore and I'm limping a little" "okay. Well I'm ready" I told him grabbing a black handbag and following him out of my room.

On the way over we didn't say much to each other. His hand rested on my knee, his thumb moving back and forth every few seconds as he drove.
When we got to the graveyard he came around opening my door and grabbing my hand as we walked towards everyone else. We went and stood by Gio and Rory and a whole bunch of the other kids.
"Hey how are you" Tess asked him as he bent down to hug her "I'm okay" "good. I'm here if you need me" "I know" he said before she hugged me then stood on the other side of him.

"Today we gather to honor the life of Jessie Gino Filipelli whos life was taken much too early. We have lost a son, a friend, a family member, a soul. I knew this boy personally. His attitude, his passion, his heart made him the wonderful young man we all knew. He was not only a blessing for his family but this community as well. I recall one of the many encounters I had with Jessie. After church one Sunday, I came back into the chapel because I heard a noise. I called out and Jessie stood up from the ground. When I asked what he was doing he said he noticed some children make a mess during service so he was cleaning up so I wouldn't have to then he proceeded to clean the entire chapel. He was one of the most selfless kind hearted young men of this community, of this family. He will be missed and he will be remembered, through all of you. To his parents, I ask that you find ease and solace in this very hard time and lean on your closest friends for support. We all stand with you. May this young mans soul Rest In Peace forever and always" the pastor said.
"Buon' anima" Simon said then everyone repeated before they dispersed, gathering in clumps to talk.

"What does that mean" I asked Isaac and he grabbed my hand and we started walking "what, Buon' anima" "yea" "it just means rest his soul" "oh okay".
"Mr. and Mrs. Filepelli I'm sorry" Isaac said as we stopped in front of them "no need to be sorry Isaac" Mr. Filipelli said "he wanted me to let you know that he wasn't in pain and he was okay and that he loved you both so-" he said before Mrs. Filipelli slapped him across the face and I gasped "my son is dead and all you can tell me is that he wasn't in pain" "I'm sorry I wanted to do more. I tried to do more. He wanted me to tell you this and I'm trying to honor his wishes. I'm sorry for your lost and if I could've changed how things went down I would've" he said before she walked off "Isaac we know you did all you could, I spoke with Giovanni and he told me how you went to get my son. I thank you really and I'm glad you're okay. You have to understand my wife is grieving" "I understand and thank you" "of course. Excuse me" he said going after his wife.

"Are you okay" I asked him "she has the right to be mad at me" "no she doesn't like he said you did what you could" "Gio was right. I should've been awake to answer the phone" "don't blame yourself. You were tired and think about it if you went out there what good would you have been if you weren't focused" "I guess" "babe stop beating yourself up. You can't change it and doing that won't help. Let's go find Gio and Rory okay" I said as we walked hand in hand back to them.
