Dixies pov
"So I'll see you after school" Levi said as I closed the book "yea" "I can drop you off at home too if you want" "oh sure I'll just let my brother know" "okay cool then. See you later" he said before I left.

"Another tutoring session" Natalie asked "yea after school" "at his house" "no at Starbucks" "hm fine. So when are you gonna tell him you like him" "I don't know. Maybe when I at least get a hint that he likes me" "okay. Well I'm pretty sure he likes something. He doesn't stare at your body because he likes your mini dress" "well I don't want him to just like my body so it doesn't matter" "well it does help" she said laughing as I rolled my eyes at her.

Haileys pov
"What time are we leaving tomorrow" Rory asked as we started walking to the cafeteria "we'll leave school at 1. Tom said he'll pick us up from my house at 130" "okay cool".
Since we've stopped sitting with Jackson we sit the rest of the cheer squad and sometimes with Isaac and Gio.

"Hey babe" I said as Isaac met me in the parking lot "hey, how has your day been" "good. I had a test earlier but it wasn't hard, yours" "fine" "by the way we're leaving at 1 tomorrow I don't know if you have something to do in the morning" "no I'll be here" "okay good".

"Hey guys" Dixie said catching up to us "hey" he said "you can leave without me today" she said to Isaac "why" "Levi's gonna bring me home" "who is Levi" "he's the guy I tutor with" "no" "why can't she go" I asked "I don't know him" "he's a sophomore of course you don't know him" "how do you know him" "I don't. Look it's tutoring then she's coming home" "yea I'll be fine" "where at" "Starbucks I'm not going to his house" "fine. Text me and be careful" "I will thank you" "yea" he said before she rushed off.

"Who is Levi" "her tutor for geometry" "but she likes him doesn't she" "yea" "that's new" "exactly why I wanted you to let her go" "oh. I just don't want anything to happen" "I know".

Dixies pov
We drove to Starbucks and got drinks before we started. He was mainly showing me stuff from the first half of the last semester but it was easy so we we're moving fairly fast.
I was working on the problem when I noticed him staring again.
"I'm done" I told him "oh uh let me see" he said as I turned the notebook to him "yea perfect actually" "thanks" "yea. You know you catch on to this stuff really fast" he said "well I've always been good at math" "I can tell" he said as I smiled at him.
"Uh we could move on or stop for today" "stop, like you'd take me home now" I asked "uh if you want or if you don't have to be home we can hang out" "I don't have to be home yet" "okay good then we can go get some actual food" he said standing up as I followed.

"So I've noticed you don't say much about your family" he said after we got our food "oh yea" "you know everyone already knows" "yea I know" "so why don't you talk about it" "I mean what is there to say" "a lot. The mob that's a crazy gig. Do you like it" "I do actually" "all the killing and crime" "well it's not always that, it's a family. Not everyone is how people expect the mob to be" "huh. So you guys are rich right" "yea we are" "I could tell" "oh" "sorry that wasn't an insult. I meant the way you carry yourself is very classy. You're confident, in the way you dress and act. You also don't have to put anyone down to feel good about yourself" "do you watch me Levi" "not necessarily but I notice. Besides I've spent the last few months with you" "true. Well thanks" "no problem" "and what about you. You've only said you're an only child and not much more" "well there's nothing special about my family. My dad brings in the money and my mom deals with the house. We have a good amount of wealth but trust me not as rich as you" "oh. Well there's nothing wrong with having a normal family, sometimes I wish I could" "why. Is it not an exciting life" "I don't know if exciting is the word. It's eventful but not all of them are pleasant" "oh I'm sorry" "don't worry about it".

"So how come you all transferred" "honestly I'm not sure I never cared to ask. Besides I only ever went to Duncan Junior High so maybe something in the high school" "oh right you're a freshman, I forgot" "yea".

"Holy shit you live here" he said as we went up the driveway "yea" "it's huge" "yea. Maybe you can come inside next time" "yea maybe I will" "Thank you for lunch and the tutoring" "no problem. See you tomorrow" "yea see you" I said getting out of the car.

"Dixie honey come sit" mom said from the living room. I expected her and dad to be sitting there so he could yell at me but it was just her.
"Yea what's up" "Isaac said you went out with someone" "I didn't exactly go out, he tutors me" "what's his name" "Levi" "and you like him" "uh I think so" "honey that's nice" "yea" "so are you guys dating" "oh no. I don't even know if he likes me and I'm not sure how to tell him I like him" "well I don't know how you kids usually do it but we just used to wait for the guy to ask" "oh" "but if you feel so strongly about it why not flirt a little" "well I don't want to seem desperate" "you won't. Look honey you are a beautiful young lady and I'm sure any boy will be willing and lucky to be with you" "thank you mom" "of course" she said hugging me before I went upstairs.

Haileys pov
"Hailey are you packed" mom asked "yes I did it yesterday when I came back from school" "okay good. What time will he be here" "130" "well none of us will be here so just make sure to text us and lock up" "okay" "and if something happens on the trip and you want to come home just let me know and we'll try to figure something out" "I'll be fine mom" "but if you're not" "okay I got it" "good. Are you sure you're okay" "yes I'll be fine and I have Rory" "okay okay. I'm just worried" "I know" I said going over to hug her.

I went upstairs making sure I had everything together for the last time before I showered. After dinner I hung out with the boys for a while until they had to go to bed then I went to my room.

After hours of trying to fall asleep I just couldn't. Maybe this whole trip with my dad was getting to me more than I thought. I didn't think I'd see him anytime soon let alone go out of town with him. Just thinking about it made me anxious. What if I ended up in a room alone with him. I kept replaying the events of that one night in my head. I mean now I was older and I could actually do something but still.
I looked at my phone: 3:37.
I FaceTimed Isaac hoping this was one of his long nights and he'd still be up.
He didn't answer so I put my phone up and laid back sighing but then my phone rang.

"Hey, what's wrong" Isaac asked, his voice low and raspy "I'm sorry I shouldn't have called" "it's fine. What's wrong" "I just can't sleep" "why not" "I don't know I think this trip is making me anxious" "anxious why. Do you not want to go" "no I think I do it's just nerve wracking. The last time I went out of town with him was when I was 7" "something else is wrong" "no there's not I'm just nervous" "I hear it in your voice what's wrong" "I don't know I guess the stuff that happened when I was kid just kind of gets to me" "stuff that happened? Something that happened with you" "uh no my mom and stuff" I said quickly "that's it" "yea. I really just wanted to talk to you I'm fine now seriously" "you sure love" "yes I'm sure" "I'll stay on the phone" "really" "yea. Try to get some rest okay" "I will. Goodnight babe" "goodnight Hails" he said as I laid back down smiling and eventually I did go to sleep.
