Haileys pov
After school I went over to Isaacs. I would've let him take me but I was just so upset that I didn't really want to talk. This whole thing with my dad gets me so upset but I don't like to show it so instead I don't show anything and just sit there quietly.
"Hey how are you Hailey" his mom asked as I went inside "good" I said before Isaac and I turned to go upstairs " oh yea and Isaac honey someone called for you" she said "who" "Tess" "for what" "she wanted to see how you were doing" "oh. I'll call her" "okay" she said before me and him went upstairs. I laid back on his bed as he took the call.
"Tess. Yea hey. Better, thanks for checking in. Yea. Oh no problem I just didn't want you to get hit too. Yea of course. I'll see you, bye Tess" he said before hanging up.
"Who's Tess" I asked lowly "we went to Duncan together. She is Mr. Florentinos daughter, the house where I got shot at the other night" "oh what did she thank you for" "saving her life. She could've gotten hit but I pulled her behind the couch with us. That's actually how I got shot" "oh".
"Hails are you gonna tell me what's wrong" he asked laying next to me "nothing" "we barely saw each other in school and now you just seem really disengaged" "I'm sorry I don't sound interesting Isaac. I'm just tired" "that's not what I said" "just nothings wrong okay" "okay" he said.
A little bit later my phone started ringing, fuck not here. I ignored the first one and the second one but on the third one I got up going into the bathroom.
"Listen I said stop calling me, please" "Hailey I just need to see you once. We can meet at the park or get lunch" "no. You know we can't and you know I don't want to" I said before Isaac appeared in the doorway "Hailey" "stop, I have to go" I said quickly hanging up.
"Who was that" he asked "no one" "no one, because you just ran into the bathroom to take a call" "yes no one, forget it" "Hails talk to me" "damn it Isaac just please stop asking" I said pushing past him and going back in the room. I wanted to go home.
"Where are you going" "home" "baby wait a minute. Did I do something" he asked grabbing my arm and turning me to him "Isaac I'm actually really tired could you let go of me" I said and he did as I asked and took a step back before I left. I said goodbye to his mother on the way out and went home. Why was I acting like this, especially towards Isaac when I know all he does is try to help.
"Sweetheart I thought you were going to Isaacs" mom said "uh yea I was. Uh dad called again" I said and before she could say anything about it, I went upstairs. I called Rory and told her to come over.
"Hailey are you okay" she asked laying down next to me "no. I'm upset Rory. I basically ignored Isaac and made him feel horrible and he probably thinks he did something" "You didn't tell Isaac who was calling you" "no" "why not" "I don't know Rory" "what did your dad want" "I don't know. Can we just lay here I don't really want to talk about it" "okay" she said as we leaned into the each other.

"Your phones ringing" Rory said "who is it" "Isaac" "uh don't answer it" I told her "are you sure" "yes".

"Hailey the door" Michael said poking his head into my room "okay". I got up and slowly went downstairs, I knew I'd eventually have to talk to him about it.

"Hi" I said closing the door behind me as I stepped outside "Hails what did I do" he asked, as his eyebrows furrowed "Isaac you didn't do anything. I've had a pretty stressful couple of days and I took it out on you" "talk to me" "uh my dads been calling me" "that's who called you at my house" "yes" "baby you could've just told me that. That's what I'm here for" "I know but I've been so angry and I hate when I get like that so I just don't talk about it at all" I said before he stepped forward hugging me tightly as I sighed.

"I want to stay here forever" I said looking up at him "I know. We could go inside" "Rorys inside. I'm sorry Isaac. I shouldn't have shut you out like that" "it's okay. I'll see you tomorrow then" "sure" "if you need call me okay" "okay" I said before he kissed me and went back to his car.

"Everything okay" Rory asked as I laid back down "yea. I told him it was my dad calling me" "why didn't you want to tell him" "I don't know. It didn't have anything to do with him, I just don't like talking about my dad" "yea I get it". The rest of the night we didn't say anything about my dad and it was probably for the best.
Isaac and I texted about doing something tomorrow since I ran out today and I kept apologizing and he told me not to worry about it.

"Good morning and here. And for Rory" Isaac said handing us the coffees "what's this for" "a couple of things" "okay" "well for yesterday I just wanted to do something nice for you and I uh have to cancel today" "why" "I have to go see someone and I don't think you want to come" "see who" "my uncle" "why wouldn't I want to come see your uncle" "I'm not going to his house" "where are you going then" "Rikers" "Rikers. Prison" "yes" "oh. What if I wanted to come with you" "your parents wouldn't let you" "it's a prison there's no way I could get hurt" "uh Hailey he's right they'd freak" Rory said "then I don't have to tell them exactly where we're going" "if you want to go I'll bring you with me" Isaac said "okay then I'll let you know" "okay" he said before walking away.

"Hailey are you insane you can't go to Rikers" Rory said when he was gone "why not" "because it's a fucking prison" "exactly, what's the worse that can happen and I'll be with Isaac the entire time" "but what if something does happen you have to tell your parents" "I'm going to tell them" "Hailey please tell them before you leave" "they're not gonna let me go" "they might" "are you really gonna make me tell them" "you or me" "fine Rory" "thank you" she said smiling.

"Okay I'm coming but I'm gonna tell them" I told Isaac as we walked from science "okay we'll stop there" "yea".
I'm not sure why I was so inclined to go, even I knew this was insane. I think it was mainly because I wanted to be with Isaac, it's like I was addicted to him, which was fine with me.

"Do you want me to come in" he asked as we pulled into my driveway "sure".

"Hey" I said to mom and Derrick. Since when were they both home at this time.
"Hey guys what's up" "uh can I go out with Isaac" I said "uh yea sure you don't have to ask us" Derrick said "okay".
"Uh I'm going to Rikers" Isaac said since I completely left that out "you're going where" "Rikers" "prison" "yes ma'am" "Hailey you want to go to a prison" "yea. It's a prison nothing that bad can happen and I'll be with Isaac the entire time and then we leave" "I won't let anything happen" he said "uh yes you can go" Derrick said slowly "excuse me" mom said "look she's right. Let's face it Isaac can do more than me and you put together who better to take her to a prison. She's gonna go anyways or do something worse you might as well let her, knowing that she'll be okay" "fine. You can go just please both of you be careful" "we will mom thank you" I said before we left.
