The next morning Rory came over.
"Hey. I'm sorry I couldn't come last night" she said getting in the bed "it's okay. How was your date" "really good. So what happened with Kyle, are you okay" "I found out he broke the case and then he said he did it for us. He thought that this would get Isaac kicked out of school and he could get his girlfriend back I just couldn't handle it anymore. I'm fine though really" "are you sure" "yea. Uh also another thing" "yea" "Isaac came over last night" "came over here, to your house. Ew was he in this bed" "not like that, Rory. He texted to check on me and then an hour later he was outside with ice cream so I invited him in to game night" "game night?! So you guys are a thing" "no we're just friends. It was no different than if you or Jackson were at game night" "yea sure it wasn't, Hailey. It's obvious you like each other" "no it's not, I mean we don't" "if you don't then why did you tell me he came over" "I just thought you would want to know" "yea sure. Or you wanted me to say the words you haven't been able to say yourself" "Rory come on" "Hailey I know my bestfriend" "okay maybe I thought him bringing me the ice cream was a cute gesture but that doesn't mean I like him or anything" "okay then" she said. We hung out at my house for a while then we took Michael to his baseball practice.

The rest of the weekend was boring but it was like I was excited to see Isaac again but I wasn't sure why.

On Monday, I picked Rory up for school.
"I'm gonna go meet Benny before class" she said "okay see you at lunch then" "yea" she said before we parted ways.

"Hailey" I heard Kyle say as I opened my locker "Kyle what" "I want you back. I gave you the weekend to get over it" he said as I turned to him "get over it. Kyle why aren't you understanding. We didn't fight, we broke up. We're done" "no I know but that doesn't mean we can't get back together" "yes it does. I don't want to get back with you" "listen baby, I need you back" "don't call me that. We're done for real. There is no more chances" I said before he was grabbed by the shoulder.

"She said she was done" Isaac said as Kyle turned to him "what are you, her bodyguard" "no Kyle he's not. Isaac I'm okay really. I'm just gonna get to class" I said as Isaac gave me one last questioning look as a 'really' and I nodded before he left.

"Hailey" "Kyle stop" I said walking away. I didn't mind Isaac standing up for me or anything but I didn't want to see them fight. I knew Isaac would win and he would get in trouble. Kyle was strong I'll give him that but he wasn't much of a fighter and I knew when it came to Isaac, he lost his mind and he would be the one to throw the first punch.

"Hi Hailey" Dylan said to me on my way to lunch "hey Dylan" "so I heard you and Kyle broke up" "uh yea we did" "so I was thinking maybe you would want to go to dinner with me sometime" "oh I'm not looking for a relationship" "well when you are maybe we'll go out" "aren't you Kyle's teammate" "yea so" "so what you guys don't have bro code or some shit like that" "we do but if it's you I might have to break it" "Dylan I don't want to go out with you" "fine. See you later then" "sure" I said as I continued walking.

"Dylan just asked me out" I told Hailey and Jackson "Dylan O'Reily" she asked "yup" "what did you say" "I said no. I'm not looking for a relationship, I'm good with what I have right now" "well yea because you're basically dating Isaac" Jackson said "that's not what I meant. I'm good being single" "hm okay. I heard about your little ice cream and game night date" "it wasn't a date at all. Like I told Rory, it was like if any of you came to game night" "okay Hailey" he said.

"Anyways Jackson what's been going on with you, it seems like you're always busy now" Rory said "uh I've just been doing things" "doing things" I asked "you know with my mom" "you've been doing things with your mom" Rory said "yea. Also she just got a boyfriend so he's been over a lot" "so why are you hanging out with them" "oh well you know, meeting him and stuff" "okay once or twice but that's like all you do now" I said "Jackson what aren't you telling us" Rory asked him "what nothing" "no you look like you're hiding something" I said "I'm not. I'm not saying anything. I mean there's nothing to say so that's why I'm not saying anything" "Hailey it seems like he's hiding something right" "definitely. Jackson I think you got a boyfriend" I said "no you guys are crazy. And look the bells gonna ring" "yea in ten minutes sit down" Rory said as he dropped back in his seat.

"Ughh fine. So do you know Christopher" "Christopher who" she asked "Reid" "yea we do. Wait he has a girlfriend" "yea he does. That's why I'm not supposed to tell anyone" "wait you and Christopher Reid are doing it. Since when" "basically the beginning of the year" "how did this happen" Rory asked "well when we went to the transfers party he just pulled me into a room and we fucked and I thought he was drunk or something but then he texted me and since then we've been doing it" "wow. Callie is not gonna like that" Rory said as we laughed a little. Callie was on our cheer squad.
"Well wait are you guys just fucking around or is this a thing" "well we talked and he said he's exploring his sexuality but for now he just wants to fuck around. Oh my god but he is so good and sexy and dominant" "okay Jackson that's enough, more than enough" Rory said stopping him before he laughed. The bell rang for lunch and we all went to our classes.

"Hey" Isaac said when I sat down "hey" "by the way sorry for this morning" "no thank you actually it helped. I just didn't want you to get in a fight with him and get in trouble or something" "yea. Don't worry though I wasn't gonna hit him" "I uh wasn't worried about him" I said looking over at him.

Why did I just say that, what the hell was I thinking. I felt my cheeks getting red when I realized how fucking obvious that was. But in my defense I didn't mean for that to come out, it just happened.

"Okay" was all he said and now I was more nervous than before. Okay what. Okay, good? Okay, I was worried about you too? Okay, you're weird? Okay, I don't like you? Fuck I was really hoping it wasn't those last two. I- I really wanted Isaac Castellano to like me... back.

"You were right I do" I said to Rory as we drove to her house "what the hell are you talking about" "Isaac. You were right. I like him" I said as she looked over at me "Hailey really" "yea I'm pretty sure I like him" "aww" "not aww. What the hell do I do" "what do you mean what do you do. He likes you back and you guys are gonna be so cute together" "you think so" "uh duh. Just wait, he's gonna ask you out eventually" "how long is eventually. I will go crazy" "don't stress out over it" "how can I not. He's so hot and sweet and I just want to kiss him every time I see him and then he keeps doing cute things. When he brought that ice cream over and he was leaning on his car I just couldn't stop smiling at him. Fuck Rory I really really like him" I said as I looked over at her smiling "yea I can tell. How was it when he came inside" "good. My mom told me she approves and he was actually a lot of fun" "ah so you both are already good with each other's families then" "I mean I guess" "well that would be good for going over to each other's house" "Yea. No Rory don't get my hopes up I'm not even sure if he likes me" "okay okay, but trust me he does" she said and I still couldn't stop smiling.

When I got home I told my mom, I called Jackson. I really liked Isaac.
