chapter twenty

Since we started this term, Fridays were meant for the inter-house sport practice.

I was in the blue house and we were having our practice at the field when Rihanna approached me, this time she wasn't with Kemisola.

"Hi," she greeted as she flashed me a huge grin.

"Hi," I responded.

"Emm...'ve been chosen as the queen," she smiled dreamily.

What's my business with that? Why are we even in the same house gan?

"Oh," I nodded while looking at my phone. None of my close friends were in my house and the only person I was familiar with there was Yimika who had gone for volleyball practice.

"You've been chosen as the King too"

My eyes brightened. When did this happen? Can you choose someone without the person's consent?

"Oh, I see," I sighted our house master and decided to approach him concerning the issue of me being King.

"Why are you following me?" I turned back.

She looked slightly embarrassed and covered it with a smile, "I'm heading to...," she looked around before pointing at the students matching, "there"

"Okay," I said before calling the attention of the Sports master. I asked him about what Rihanna had said earlier and he confirmed it, he then excused me to go the pool so far I was representing our house in swimming.

I left for the pool where I met Kenneth who was just coming out of the water, we exchanged pleasantries before I went to the changing room. Kenneth was in the Yellow house and he was representing his house in swimming, so we were more or less opponent.

Our coach arrived immediately I got out of the changing room, he called everyone of us that were to represent our house to order and spoke with everyone of us before ordering us to be in position.

There were five house in RGC, I didn't really associate with the other guys in the other house since they were in SS1 and SS3. The coach blew the whistle and we all dived into the water.

At the end, I came second with Kenneth coming first, I really had a lot to practice if I wanted my house to come first but nevertheless it was okay, Kenneth smiled triumphantly and mockingly at me and I scoffed.

After the practice, I decided to go back to the field though I didn't have anything to do there, my eyes caught  some girls entering the dance hall with ribbons and I decided to feed my eyes, I stayed at the entrance and I sighted Kiisha who was pirouetting, she looked beautiful in the ballet gown and was really good in what she was doing. I never knew she was a ballet dancer.

The sound from my phone cut my gaze from Kiisha, I turned to my phone and realized it was a message from Sharon.

Well, Sharon is a girl that lives in our estate, I'd met her during the last week of our first term holiday while I was moving around the estate in my bicycle one morning. She was jogging that morning in a black crop top and black jeggings that showed off her voluptuous shape.

She'd flashed me a cool smile and I'd greeted her before she told me to accompany her jog. I obliged and while jogging, we talked a lot and I learnt she was also in SS2 in MERRY High school, we got along pretty well and I loved her company, we later exchanged numbers.

Later that night, she chatted me up on WhatsApp, two days later sha, she told me she liked me, me being me, I can't lose such a strikingly beautiful girl so I asked her out and she answered me that minute. Ever since then she visited my place whenever no one was around, I only knew her house but didn't visit her even once.
