"Are there any species you actively avoid?" You asked Zora and Midge as you completed your coursework. You were almost done with the dreaded biology homework.
"No." Midge answered plainly. "But I do wonder, what room do you go in for biology hour? Is there a maned wolf room?"
"Uh, no... I go with Zora, actually."
"Yeah, there's an omnivore room. Mostly just scavenging stuff." Zora added. "As for actively avoid... Same as you, I assume. Tiny herbivores like the mice and chipmunks. I would never hurt them, but I feel like I make them super uncomfortable."
"Okay, I just wanted to know if it was only me. I just heard a chipmunk got stepped on by an Asian elephant the other day and I was thinking about the tiny herbivores. Life's got to be hard for them."
"Life's hard for me!" Midge complained with a snort. "Why am I doing this report on plesiosaurs!? They've been extinct ages and I couldn't give one hoot about them!"
"Oh my god, same though." Zora was quick to sympathize. "I have megladons and it's like, why couldn't we choose our own dinosaurs? I care more about my own ancestors..."
"I'm not looking forward to next year and that assignment..." You groaned. "Are either of you going to the meteor festival?"
"Yeah, my girlfriend and I are going." Zora nodded. "She thinks it's just so romantic. So obviously that means I better take her."
"My friends and I are going together. It's not just for couples. Are you going?"
"I'm going home actually... I'm supposed to help with the decorations, but I won't actually get to go." You laid back. "I feel kind of bad missing it, but I don't really have anyone to go with."
"It didn't work out with that tiger?" Midge raised her brow.
"I was never trying to be with Bill." You shrugged. "I'm not really that into anyone, so I'm not really trying. I want to enjoy my time here, not be worried about relationships."
"That's fair. If it happens, it happens. If it doesn't, I learned a lot." Midge chewed on some veggies. "That's my motto."
"Not a bad one." You and Zora nodded together.
You were looking forward to going home. Reza, Kari, Mina and Yuto would all be there and you were thrilled to get the gang back together. What gossip had you missed out on? What was their high school like? Did they miss you?
I wish I was going out with the second-years to the city. I'm sure omnivores can go out with carnivores... after all the new murders of herbivores, it's getting awfully scary out there.
Suddenly, the door to your room was busted open.
"YN. Breaking news. I was talking to Bill, who was on his way to the meeting, who heard from Aoba that there's a new actress in the drama club." Pina burst in.
"Uh, one, this is a girl's dorm, don't you think you should knock first?" You leaned back in your chair, thankful for the break. "Two, okay? Thanks for telling me? I'll be sure to say hi."
"No, no, no. So Legoshi ran into her being harassed by Aoba's brother and it turns out that the new actress is a gray wolf, first year."
"Okay, and?" You rolled your eyes.
"She's obsessed with Legoshi!" Pina yelled. "Don't you care?!"
"No!" You snapped. "Look, I don't care about him any more. I hardly cared in the first place! If he wants to date a bunny or a wolf or a hippopotamus, it's not my business. We're on stage crew together and that's it. This is getting so blown out of proportion! I don't have a crush on him!"
Pina stood in the doorway, panting from the run.
"I just thought you'd want to know." He felt a little bad now. Maybe he shouldn't have even told you.
"I really don't..."
