"Oh. Uh, I guess if all of you are doing it..." you said, returning their friendly smiles.

"I'm not. Just in case you feel peer pressured." Pina rolled his eyes. "Not everyone is obsessed with that guy.

"No, it's okay, I probably should do some activity and I'd rather do it with a bunch of my friends. It's kind of hard to get people to trust me." Your eyes bobbed from animal to animal. "Do you do a club?"

"Yeah, antisocial personality club!" Tem said, with a laugh. Soon everyone was laughing as Pina narrowed his eyes.

"Definitely, we had to beg him to grace us with his presence." Els chimed in with a laugh, leaning in towards Tem with sparkling eyes.

"Ah well, you know, some of us have more important things on our mind than social clubs!" Pina snapped.

"If you were in a club, Pina, I'd consider joining." You gave a smile, causing some of the group to jerk backwards. "Oh... sorry. I'm still getting used to the not baring my 'fangs' thing. I always just thought of them as just teeth. But I'll try to be more considerate!"

Your apology was easily accepted and you all sat there talking and laughing for a few minutes until the first bell rang.

"Well, I do hate to cut this short but I've got to get going. I'll see you all for dinner!" you said, before getting up.

"Bye, YN!"

"Bye!"

"See ya."

"Later!"

Popping the last few berries into your mouth, you hitched your bag over your shoulder and walked out of the door.

Taking a deep breath of fresh air, you looked up at the sky with a closed-lip smile. Things were working out so far and you were excited to join a club. Maybe even more people could get to know you and you'd have even more friends! Your elation must have shown in your face because as you sat down in class, animals filed in and even chose to sit near you. You had herbivore-carnivore interactions this period and even though you found it very black and white, it was an easy class.

Don't terrorize herbivores.

Don't demonize carnivores.

Be understanding of mistakes.

Ask if you have a question.

That's the gist of what you had learned so far. An an omnivore, you felt both sides had valid points, but wondered if these really were things that happened. Did a lion really just growl and roar at a rabbit to make them upset? Did cows and chickens really think every bad thing is because of a carnivore? It seemed so illogical.

Maybe it's this big city... You thought to yourself. People aren't all friends, so they treat each other how they want... No one at home would have even thought about this stuff. But then again... we didn't really have big carnivores either.

As you looked around the classroom, you noticed that animals tended to stay in packs and herds. Big carnivores sat together in the back, you had a lion and a polar bear in your class. Tiny herbivores sat in the front, for obvious reasons. If there was more than one of a species, they sat near each other, but not necessarily next to each other. And then here you were, on the side of the room, trying not to impose on anyone.
