45: The Black Out

"Legoshi, your tail has split ends... You should ask Juno how she keeps her so nice." Kibi spoke to the wolf.

Does he have a girlfriend?... He's so awkward sometimes... Juno thought to herself.

You were in a terrible mood, not evening talking to any of your friends on stage crew today. Pack-zoned... Is that even a thing? You thought to yourself dully as you started back towards school.

"Sorry to keep you waiting, stage crew!!" Juno's chipper voice rang over everyone. "The actor team's done now."

"Uh, all right..." Legoshi was as confused as everyone else why Juno had bothered to announce this. "Did the rehearsal go well?"

"Yeah, it did!! It's because you stood around while we were practicing!"

"No, no... I didn't do anything." Legoshi insisted.

"Now, now, let's go back to school!! It's 8 o'clock!!"

"You're full of energy, Dom..." Fudge noted the false enthusiam Dom had for wanting to escape Juno's clutches.

"Oh. The meteor is almost finished." She noticed. And that maned wolf smells like Legoshi... That makes me.... furious. "The festival is in two days... it's so pretty. They say when a couple lights a candle together and puts it by the meteor, they're fated to be together forever." Is there really a female who has you all to herself? One who can see you be sad and happy whenever they want? I never get any emotions...

"Hmm. I don't know. It'd be cool if it was..." Legoshi's mind wandered to Haru. "A couple.. .tgoether forever..."

Is he thinking about someone special? Is it her?!

"If it's fine with you, could you take me--" Juno was stopped before anything even started. A sudden power outage fell over the city.

"HEY! DOM! GUYS! YN!" Legoshi took off in a flash.

"Th-that voice... Legoshi? Where are you? I can't see anything!!" Dom sounded more worried than usual.

"I think it's just a power outage. It's all right! We carnivores need to gather all the members together. We need to huddle and stick together."

"Everything's all right. There's carnivores members with us." Els' voice was worried, but she wanted to be brave.

"It's okay, Els."Bill's voice was quiet. "I'll protect you."

"Everyone needs to get in our carnivore ring!!" Riz the bear held his arms out.

"How long are the lights going to be out?!"

"Aoba, I'm scared. I can't see a thing."

"Don't worry, the lights will be on in no time."

Suddenly, a realization hit Legoshi. Haru was still out.

"AOBA! Sorry, I need to go somewhere. Take care of the animals, okay?! I'll be right back!"

And with a flash, he was gone as well.

He had to focus on her scent. There was no way he'd find the tiny bunny just by luck. He paused and inhaled. Behind the trees...

"Thank goodness..."

"OH LOUIS!!" Haru screamed, "I knew you'd come for me!!!"

He was frozen in place. And then the lights came back on.

Meanwhile, Juno had also left the huddle. She had to know who was so important that Legoshi would abandon all of his friends. It took her less time, seeing as she only had to hone in on his scent.

And what she saw, she could hardly believe.

It... it wasn't the maned wolf?! No way... A wolf and a bunny... That's just impossible, right? It HAS TO BE!!
