Lone Wolf (Legoshi x Reader)

38: Plastic

"Oh, but, it doesn't excuse me for being late... so I want to clean the training hall after school as an apology. Sorry, Louis." Ellen, Kai, Els, Sanu, Goro and Bill floated around the gay little wolf and if you hadn't been watching carefully, you might have missed the sniff that she had given when she first entered, and how her eyes narrowed just a touch. It was as if there was a threat to her in the room that only she knew.

"Hey, Sheila, what's that all about?" Louis spoke to Sheila as you kept sewing outfits. "You told me that Juno was standoffish because the females get jealous of her."

"Yeah... about that... Juno's been working really hard lately to act inclusive and cheerful with all the animals around her... I think it's for a certain someone..."

"Oh, Legoshi!" Her voice was very clearly directed now. "I saw the dinosaur in the plaza. It was really pretty. The stage crew is doing their best so we actors are going to do our best with our dancing practice! We're very inspired!!"

Kibi's face was a little let down, Kai stared at Legoshi, Dom was a bit flat and the bear called Riz was looming in the background.

"Mmm... good, good." Legoshi smiled.

"The Meteor Festival is the biggest even of the summer, so why don't we give it our all!" Juno cheered. "Let's do our stretches in our pairs!"

She made you very uncomfortable, but you weren't sure why. Louis had a similar look on his face.

"Not everyone will fall for it, YN." Dom whispered to you. "Disingenuous people aren't always able to keep up their personas."

"I don't know what you're talking about." You let out a breath through your nose. "She seems very kind and thoughtful."

"She reminds me of Louis." Kai whispered. "Always plotting... always looking to bring everyone together, but only around them..."

"While the males have been fighting with each other," You heard Sheila purr. "We females got smarter. She's got a different kind of charisma than you do. Are you nervous?"

"See?" Dom's voice was in your other ear now. "Sheila and Louis knew immediately. That's why we're the team leaders. Not easily misled. Females might be sneakier-- flowers attracting followers and what not-- but leaders don't become followers so easily."

"Hey, YN, was it?" Juno's face was smiling at yours. "Could you stay with me and help me clean by turning the lights on? I know you've been gone and not able to do your fair share as much, so I'm sure you'd--"

"YN has done more than enough of her fair share, Juno." Fudge stood up next to you. He didn't like the way that she insinuated things. "She doesn't need to do any more."

"It's okay, Fudge." You looked up at her, with eyes much different than normal. "If Juno needs help with a task as simple as this, who am I to say no? It's like a sloth needing the restroom-- you can't help but say yes."

Dom turned his head and coughed, trying so hard to repress his laughter. Even Pina had to cover his mouth. Els and Ellen whispered to each other in hushed tones as the rest of the room went quiet.

"I'm so glad to hear that!" Juno's smile was as plastic as ever. "When it's time for us to clean, just go up and turn on a spot light or two for me. Thanks!"
