Hi guys so today's updates will be a little shorter, but they are important to the story. Enjoy!

The rest of the week went by in a blur. Sophie got to know her friends more and she was finally getting the hang of the new school. Sophie, even invited Tam and Linh to their lunch table, which they gladly accepted. Everyone was getting along just fine. Well, Tam and Keefe were a little different. They did lots of bickering with each other and it was hilarious to watch. Keefe even calls Tam Bangs Boy because of Tam's hair.

Sophie was more than relieved when Friday came. The weekend would start and there was that football game she was going to go to with all of her friends.

When Sophie arrived at the stadium, she was a little blown away by the crowd. It looked like the whole school was there, along with the marching band, football players, and cheerleaders. There was confetti and streamers everywhere. According to Fitz, he said that this was the game to determine if they would go to the Championship.

Sophie first spotted Marella and Dex in the crowd. They hadn't seen Sophie yet, so Sophie went to go over to them.

As Sophie was walking, she was interrupted by her gym teacher, Lady Alexine.

"Hi Sophie! How are you?" She asked.

"Hi, I'm good," Sophie replied.

"You know, I've seen you run at gym class and you are quite good at it. You're a natural! I was wondering if you'd like to join the cross country team. The season just started, so we'd gladly accept you. Our team needs a fast runner like you. What do you say?"

"Oh wow! Thank you, I'll think about it."

"Great, thank you Sophie. I hope you do choose to join. It's a great experience!" And with that Lady Alexine left with a wave.

Wow was she really being asked to join a school team?

Sophie had to join. This would be good for her and give her something to do.

Sophie then made her way to Dex and Marella. On her way, she saw Jensi sitting with the Drooly Boys and gave him a wave. When she met up with Dex and Marella, she told them the news.

"That's great Sophie!" Marella exclaimed.

"Yeah," Dex added.

Sophie beamed. Before she could respond, the announcers were already asking everyone to stand for the National Anthem. At the last possible second, Biana, Tam, and Linh joined them. Once the game started, everyone sat down and chatted while every once in a while cheering for Foxfire.

The game was neck and neck the whole time. And in the fourth quarter when the other team was winning by three points, Fitz scored a touchdown at the last possible second. The crowd went wild. Everyone was hugging and high fiving each other. The cheerleaders made a big show and then it was over. Sophie had never had so much fun in a long time.

As her friends were leaving, Sophie stayed behind to congratulate Keefe and Fitz. As she made way over to where the football players were, she saw Keefe and Fitz arguing. She quickly hid so they wouldn't see her.

She knew it wasn't her business but she just couldn't make her feet move.

What could be the harm of her just checking up on her friends? That's what it was, just concern.

She shut down the voice in her head telling her to leave as she leaned in to hear.

"I still can't believe you did that!" Keefe shouted at Fitz.

"Are you seriously complaining about us winning? The team won because of me Keefe, just be happy!" Fitz yelled back.

"Yeah, but you promised you would throw me the ball so I could get the touchdown. That was the play!" Keefe snapped back.

"Keefe, I just couldn't risk it! I knew that I would make it anyways so it doesn't matter. You know I made the right move."

"Okay I'm sorry, I just wanted to finally win the game for the team. You always win it for us and I just wanted a chance."

"Why this game Keefe? Was it because of a certain someone? Sophie?" Fitz asked, glaring at Keefe.

"Of course n-not! I just wanted to finally make the coach happy and you know who else!"

"Sure Keefe, keep telling yourself that! I'm sure Sophie doesn't care. I think she would be happy for the team like you should be! And your dad will always act the same to you. It wouldn't matter if you scored or not."

Did Keefe really want to score a touchdown for her?

No! He said it was to impress the coach and his dad. Not you stupid head!

Now Sophie understood the pressure Keefe was under. But she couldn't help feeling a little disappointed that Keefe wasn't doing it for her.

Wait why? Sophie! The whole school is here! Quit being so selfish!

"Fine whatever Golden Boy..." Keefe muttered.

They then separated without looking at each other. Fitz went into the locker room and Keefe was heading out.
And coming towards her—WAIT HER?!

Sophie was too late. Keefe would see her.
