Sophie woke up to the mouth-watering smell of bacon. Sophie instantly sprang up, excited, but she instantly regretted when her head spun and immediately exploded with pain. The pain was so unbearable that she almost screamed.
Why did her head hurt like this?
Sophie suddenly remembered the events that occurred the day before.
Edaline has gone missing. Sophie hurt herself. The nightmare.
It was all too much to handle. Thankfully, it was Saturday so Sophie didn't have to go to school, allowing her think about the mess she was in.
Sophie thought that her heart would feel pained, but instead, it was cold and empty. Made of only hatred and darkness.
Sophie was going to kill whoever had tried to hurt her, her family, and her friends.
She had enough.
Sophie then carefully got up and brushed her teeth. She then dressed herself in dark jeans and a plain black shirt. She didn't even bother to brush her hair as she walked carefully down the stairs, afraid to worsen the pain in her head.
As she headed down, she noticed that Grady and Keefe were sitting at the table eating.
At first, Sophie was confused as to why Keefe was there, but then she remembered Keefe being here last night when she had her nightmare.
Sophie blushed when she remembered what had happened. Her mind wanted to wander at the way Keefe had looked at her last night, but she shrugged it off.
Keefe had just been a caring friend. That's all he was doing. He wasn't doing anything more, and he only thought of Sophie as a friend.
Sophie looked down to see that her hands were clenched. She had no idea why though.
Shrugging that off, she carefully bent down to spy on them.
"Gah! Who do you think you are Mister to just take all of the bacon?" Grady growled at Keefe.
"I'm not taking all the bacon!" Keefe defended. "Oh, look over there. Is that a Ninja?" Keefe asked, pointing behind Grady.
"WHERE? I NEED TO SEE THIS NINJA!" Grady shouted as he turned around quickly to see the "ninja" that Keefe was talking about.
Keefe then took the distraction to quickly grab the rest of the bacon and shove it in his pocket.
Grady then turned back to Keefe. "I don't see a Ninja!" He accused.
"Oh, the Ninja probably snuck away," Keefe said smoothly, covering his lie.
"Uhuh, I see...AND HEY! WHO TOOK THE REST OF THE BACON?" Grady yelled once he noticed that all of the bacon was gone.
"Grady, the Ninja took it," Keefe explained.
"But I didn't see the Ninja!" Grady pouted.
"Grady, the Ninja was sneaky. Good Ninjas do their work secretly and unseen," Keefe whispered.
"Oooh, that Ninja is good," Grady whispered as he squinted his eyes and looked around. "Oh how I wish I can be a Ninja!" Grady said dreamily.
"Really? No way," Keefe said sarcastically.
"Yeah, I'm really secretive about it. That's why no one knows. I shouldn't tell you though, it's like super super undercover," Grady whispered as he attempted to do some Ninja moves that miserably failed.
"Yeah, I don't really want to know about that—"
"Alright I'll tell you!" Grady said, cutting off Keefe.
