Screams filled the ballroom as the lights slowly flickered back on.
Sophie's ears started to ring from the loud gunshot. Everything seemed to be in slow motion as chaos surrounded her.
Kids were trampling over each other to try and escape while the teachers tried to hold everyone back.
"Lock the doors!" A voice boomed above them.
Sophie then looked up to see that Ken was standing on a high balcony above them.
And he was the one with the gun.
There was then a big boom and Sophie's head snapped to where the doors were. They were now locked and Dan Rogers was guarding them.
And he also had a gun.
Someone then screamed on the top of their lungs, "MR. FORKLE!"
Sophie's eyes then widened in panic as she turned to see a crowd gathering around something.
Sophie then pushed her way through and gasped in horror when she saw Mr. Forkle laying flat on the ground with a bullet in his stomach.
"MR. FORKLE!" Sophie shrieked.
But before she could get close to him, Ken yelled from above, "EVERYONE SHUT UP! You all will do as I say or any of you could end up with a bullet in you too!"
Everyone then started to panic and immediately backed away from Mr. Forkle who was hacking up blood.
"Alright! Everyone line up against the wall over there!" Ken directed, pointing to a side of the room.
Everyone then quickly rushed there as fast as they could and lined up against the wall.
However, Dex was having trouble wheeling towards the wall. He was the only one.
"MOVE IT!" Ken called to Dex from above.
"S-sorry!" Dex squeaked, trying to the move his wheel chair faster.
The squeaking of Dex's wheel chair was the only noise in the torturing silence as he struggled to make it across the ballroom.
Once he did, Sophie noticed that he was sweating and clutching his chest. Sophie hated how he was far away from her.
Luckily Keefe was right next to Sophie and was holding her hand tight.
"Now everyone put your hands on your head!" Ken directed as he started to go down the staircase to the main floor where everyone else was at.
