"Mom! Dad! I'm home!" Sophie yelled as she kicked off her shoes onto the rug by the front door.
"Hi sweetie! How was your first day?" Edaline called.
Well it definitely was not what she had planned. Sophie first fell flat on her face in front of the whole school, blew up an experiment while burning Lady Galvin's hair, got mash potatoes all over her at lunch, got thrown into a pile of sweaty gym wear after being told off by Stina, then met a dark creepy dude name Tam, and then had to go to detention, but other than that her day was just fine!
No it definitely was not!
But Sophie lied, "Great mom. I met a lot of new friends." Sophie then explained all of the friends she had met. She also did not go into too much detail when she talked about Tam.
Edaline then went over to Sophie and gave her a hug. "I'm glad! See I knew you'd have a good day!"
"Yeah," Sophie mumbled. "Oh mom! The Vackers invited me to their house. I should get going."
"Oh that's great honey! Grady is at the sports store right now. I'm not sure why...he said something about needing a harder baseball bat? I don't know but I'll tell him you said 'hi.'"
A baseball bat? Hmm...
"Okay thanks mom! See ya later!"
"Bye honey!"
***
Sophie sucked in a breath as she approached the Vackers' gigantic mansion. The place looked fit for a king and queen. Well according to Stina, the Vackers were like royalty.
Sophie knocked on the huge double doors.
"Sophie there you are! Why are you late?!" Biana screamed.
"Sorry I had to stop by my house," Sophie explained.
"Ugh, whatever! But for doing that, I get to do a makeover on you! You still smell like mashed potatoes!"
"What no! I don't want a makeover!"
"Oh, you are getting one whether you like it or not!"
"You can't make me!"
"Oh yeah?" Just then Biana leaped towards Sophie and tied Sophie's hands together with a rope she magically pulled out of her pockets. Then she grabbed Sophie and started to drag her into the house.
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING?" Sophie shrieked.
"I'm taking you captive since you wouldn't agree to a makeover!"
"But-But this must be illegal! HELP!Someone help! I'm being kidnapped!"
Sophie tried screaming, but was then cut off by a cloth covering her mouth.A muffled, "yo ca doh that!" came from a helpless Sophie. Keefe was right about not being late. Sophie cursed herself for not taking his advice.
Once Biana dragged Sophie upstairs, she tied Sophie to a chair and released the cloth around her mouth.
"Did you have to make it that dramatic?" Sophie questioned as she rolled her eyes.
"Yes I did! Beauty means everything to me! Now let's get started." Sophie groaned.
"How long will this take?" Sophie complained.
"Hmm, well since this isn't a formal event I'd say about an hour."
"An HOUR?" Sophie yelled.
"Be quiet! I'm focusing!" Sophie reluctantly stayed quiet for what seemed like forever. As she waited, Sophie noticed how girly Biana's room was. The room was ginormous with flowers decorating all of the walls. Everything was purple and there was a huge canopy bed that could fit about ten people. Sophie then noticed that Biana had her own bathroom with a jacuzzi so big it could be a swimming pool. Biana also had a walking closet that fit hundreds of outfits. And there were makeup supplies everywhere. There was enough to last a whole century! The Vackers must have been really rich.
