Chapter 46: Confusion

Linh's P.O.V

Linh scrambled back to get away from Wylie. He looked at her with a confused expression and asked, "what?"

"T-That tattoo," Linh said, pointing to his wrist. "Why d-do you have it?"

"Oh this? Oh, it's just a marking I have that represents something that I'm apart of," he explained, casually. "Isn't it cool?" He asked with a warm smile.
Linh's breath hitched.

She couldn't believe it.

How could he just be so casual about being apart of an evil organization?

Linh looked up at him in horror. "That's not a good sign," she whispered.

His eyebrows furrowed. "What do you mean?"

She looked away, feeling hurt. She thought she could trust him. "You're apart of that organization right?" She asked while closing her eyes as she waited for a response.

"Well...yeah. H-How do you know about th-that?" Wylie asked. When Linh opened her eyes, she could see fear in his eyes.

"I can't believe it," she breathed as she jumped off the bench and started to back away.

"Where are you going? Did I do something wrong?" Wylie asked, with concern on his face.

Linh couldn't believe the act that he was putting up.

Hopefully, there was a logical explanation to all of this.

"Everything is wrong," Linh said. "You're not the good guy I thought you were."

Wylie hopped off the bench. "What do you mean? Can you please tell me what is going on here? I have no idea what's happening," Wylie said.

"You're apart of that evil organization! That's what's wrong," Linh said coldy.
She couldn't believe that she fell for this phony.

"Evil organization? What are you talking about?" Wylie asked, looking genuinely confused.

Linh was now confused too. "Hold on—Wylie, I'm calling my friends. You have some explaining to do."

"What are even you talking about?"

Linh ignored him as she quickly called Sophie and explained to her to bring the rest of the friends and to come to the park as fast as they could.

As Linh waited for them to come, she started to panic.

She was next to a murderer! And what if he was going to hurt her?

Wylie just stayed quiet as he sat back down on the bench.

Before Linh knew it, her friends arrived and were running towards her.

Sophie's P.O.V

The minute Linh had called Sophie in a panicked voice, Sophie immediately herded her friends as they drove fast to the park Linh was at. Sophie managed to get everyone except Nick, who was at some football game.

Sophie didn't know what was happening, but she knew that it couldn't be good.

As soon as the park came into view, Sophie hopped out of the car and ran fast to where Linh was.

When Sophie reached Linh, with the rest of the friends behind, she realized that Linh wasn't alone.

The figure sitting on the bench right next to Linh looked very familiar.

After studying him a few seconds more, it clicked.

It was Wylie! The guy that met up with Alvar in the sewers.
