-chapter 4-

[Emma's POV]

I woke up, exhausted from the late night. I needed coffee. I slowly trudged over to the espresso coffee machine my parents got me last year. They knew how much I loved coffee and it was basically a necessity.

I went over to my closet and pulled out some ripped jeans and a light pink tank top. The tank top wasn't too revealing like what Mallory and Hayden wear but it was supposed to be warm out today. I grabbed an open front navy sweater to wear incase I got chilly. I slapped some makeup on my face, straightened my hair, and slowly climbed down stairs with my mug of coffee.

I slipped on socks and my white vans and headed to the Jeep. I skipped breakfast like usual. Who needs breakfast when you've got coffee?

I made it to school right on time so I wouldn't have to endure a conversation with the evil twins. I arrived in Mrs. Rhett's science classroom right as the bell rang.

"All right class! Get with your partner quick and talk about what your going to do later today."

I rushed over to Isabella, ready to get away from Mallory and Hayden. "Hey Isa!"

"Hi Em!" I loved that nickname.

"So I was thinking after picking up stuff from Home Depot we could head over to my house and work in the garage or backyard. Is that good?" I tried to not seem too nervous asking. I had never had anyone over to my house since before my friend, Ellie Stinson, moved away in elementary school. Elle and I were inseparable up until she moved away. I remember crying my eyes out when she left. I had tried to keep in touch but hadn't succeeded. We text each other on birthday's and holidays but that's about it.

"Yeah of course! Meet up by the oak tree?"

"Sure. I hope you don't mind country music, because I will be playing that." I giggled along with her, only to get a look from the teacher. Apparently we were loud.

"No I love country." She answered quieter but still let in a giggle.

"Good. I've honestly never had a friend that's liked country music before. Mallory and Hayden aren't really into that stuff. Or really anything I like." I sighed. There was a little pause but then she spoke.

"Oh. Well now you do!" We laughed together only to be interrupted by the teacher.

"Back to your seats everybody!" Mrs. Rhett called and we rushed back so no one would get in trouble.

Science class was terrible as usual. Afterwards I waited for Mallory and Hayden to leave and then met up with Isabella and her friend. I think her name was Charlotte?

"Hey Em!" They came up to me. "This is Charlotte, my best friend."

"Nice to meet you Charlotte." I held out my hand for her to shake. She wrapped her hand around my thumb and shook it. "Well, that's an interesting technique." We laughed at my comment.

"I guess your ok." She paused and waited for my reaction. I guess I was confused because she just laughed.

"Lottie!" Isa scolded and slapped her best friend.

"Sorry sorry!" She put her hands up in defense. "Well Emma, you can call me Lottie, but only if I can call you Ermo."

"Well. That's a new one, but I like it Lottie." We all laughed and made our way to our lockers. "Lottie you should come with Isa and I to Home Depot and then my house after school."

"Nah sorry I can't. I have to work with Mr. Flirtatious on our science project." She rolled her eyes.

"Mr. Who?" I was confused again.

"It's ok Em, even I don't know who she's talking about this time." I guess I must've had a weird look again. Lottie just laughed.

"Bryan Jenkins." I rolled my eyes at the sound of his name. "He's my "partner"." She held up quotations. "So basically I'm doing all the work and he's just flirting with me the whole time." Yep that sounds like Bryan.

"Didn't you two used to date Em?" Isa added to the conversation. That was exactly what I didn't want to be brought up.

"Uh yeah. But he's a player and just rude in general so that didn't work out." I brushed it off.

"Facts!" Lottie and Isa said a little too loudly at the same time. We got a few looks from the people passing us but we just burst out laughing.

"Well I have to go to English now bye!" Isabella started to part ways.

"Wait! We should all exchange numbers. Well I guess just me with the both of you." She paused and we exchanged numbers. "Bye guys!" I waved and opened my locker with my combination.

I felt two bodies on either side of me. Mallory and Hayden. Great. Just the people I wanted to see. I internally rolled my eyes.

"Hi guys." I focused on getting my books for my math class and didn't look at them.

"Why were you talking to them?" Mallory asked. For some reason she was pissed.

"Because I can." I replied, trying not to sound annoyed. It probably didn't work. I left them standing at my locker and headed to my math class without looking back. Sassy? Yes. But it was the right thing to do with those idiots around.

Whoa I updated twice in one day!?!? Yep that's right! I've decided that I'm not going to update on the weekends and I guess this is to make up for it. A double update won't happen usually on fridays but my mind is just BLOWING UP with ideas for this book! I'm so excited! Anyways I kinda introduced a new character, Ellie Stinson! Follow obsessedlimelight101 !! Well I hope you liked this chapter! I'll kind of introduce Corbyn in the next one but not really and then Daniel and others will come in a few after that. Love u all!! Oh and also a lot of my friends call me Ermo😂so that's where that came from.
