[Emma's POV]
"Hey Emma! Happy Birthday!" Bryan randomly came up to me at the party. He looked a little tipsy. Why was he being nice to me all of a sudden?
"Hi Bryan." I nodded at him, taking another sip out of my red solo cup. I had forgotten it was beer, and as soon as it hit my taste buds, I spit it all over Bryan. "Oh. I'm so sorry. Here come with me, I'll get you another shirt." I was feeling nice today.
I took his wrist and pulled him over to the kitchen stairs after putting my cup down. I led him to my room, and rummaged through my drawers, trying to find an old shirt of my dad's. I paused, after seeing him watching me out of the corner of my eye. I brushed it off, and continued digging.
"Here we are." I said as I pulled out the grey shirt. Bryan's eyes still weren't off me when I turned. It was an uncomfortable moment. I tossed him the shirt.
"Thanks." He said with a smile. He slipped his shirt off, but didn't replace it with the clean one. Bryan dropped them both on the floor, and walked over to me. "You know I was thinking." He started. "It's your eighteenth birthday, why don't we have some fun." Bryan wiggled his eyebrows at me.
"Yeah. I'm good." I looked away.
"Oh come on baby. You know you want to." He continued pressing forward and soon he had his arms wrapped around me, running up and down my back. I heard voices down the hall, and tried to get out of his grasp, but I couldn't. Bryan forced his lips onto mine, and soon he was grabbing my butt. I couldn't get away from him.
The voices came closer. Finally I shoved Bryan off me, but he still had my wrist. My eyes revealed Daniel and Mallory in the doorway. Daniel's jaw was almost touching the floor, but Mallory had a smirk plastered on her face.
"Daniel i-it's not what it looks like." I tried to explain.
"Emma. I think I know what I saw." He said after regaining his composure. And with that he turned and walked away.
"Oof looks like you ruined things with that one." Mallory gave a sly grin.
"Forget about him, baby. That was fun." Bryan reached his hand behind me again.
"Get out of here Bryan!" I shouted at him. I hoped it was loud enough for Daniel to hear. I knew it wasn't but part of me still had hope. "Never touch me again." I slapped his cheek, leaving a red mark on him and my hand. He stumbled back, but left with Mallory. After they disappeared, I broke down on the floor, crying. No one would believe me. It was my word against Bryan's, Mallory's, and Daniel's.
I had to get out of here. I needed to leave Portland. I couldn't survive senior year here. I rush down stairs, to find the party a little bit quieter. Everyone was whispering amongst themselves and I saw my friends giving me sideways glances. I mustered up all the strength I had, and shouted.
"Party's over. Please show yourself out." I yelled. People rushed out the door, not even saying goodbye or anything. Everyone knew by now. I'm sure Bryan, Hayden, and Mallory made that happen. The last people to leave were Isabella, Corbyn, Zach, Lottie, Faith, Jonah, Jack, and Ellie. They left without a word, just odd glances.
I stumbled back into the kitchen, to find my red solo cup. I found it, along with two other full ones. Beer was definitely contained in them. I held the first cup up to my lips and chugged it. The same with the other two. It would make me feel better. Right?
The beer immediately made me feel tipsy, but I powered through. I went back up into my room, finding my laptop. I bought a ticket to LA. I was going to my dad's. Tonight. I threw clothes in a suitcase, not even bothering to see what they were.
Finding a pen and notepad, a wrote my mom a note, telling her I was going to LA. I left it on the kitchen counter, called an Uber, and sat on my front step waiting.
_______________"Dad. I'm here. In LA. Can you come pick me up?" I left him a short voicemail, hoping he would see it and come get me. I was sitting outside LAX, on a suitcase, with a monster headache. Maybe drinking that alcohol wasn't such a good idea. It did help me forget about what happened though.
Soon, a Range Rover pulled up next to me and a tall lady walked out. She had on red heels, a tight black skirt, a grey blazer, and a white shirt.
"Emma?" She walked up and asked me. I nodded, but held my head in pain afterwards.
"I'm Chrissy. Your father's girlfriend." She told me. Chrissy had a nice British accent, and a genuine smile. "I'll take you home." She held out a hand to help me up, which I gladly took. She picked up my suitcase, stuffing it in the back, while I got in the car.I immediately passed out again as she started to drive. I was woken up as she shook me.
"Emma. We're here." She told me once I was awake. I nodded and slowly unbuckled my seatbelt. Both doors were opened by men outside, apparently my dad's staff. Chrissy told one of them that there was a suitcase in the back, and he retrieved it. A maid came out to help me walk, and guided me to a room inside.
"This is your room, miss Emma." She told me as we entered. "Your father will be home soon. A bath has been prepared for you. My name is Claire, so just call me if you need anything." I nodded and Claire left.
I took a moment to look around the room. It was beautiful. Light yellow walls, with dark wooden furniture. Hanging plants and a white duvet on the bed. There was a balcony in front of me, and a pool in the backyard. I looked in the drawers of a dresser, to find a ton of clothes, all in my size. My dad was really prepared. And really rich.
There was a knock at the door, and my dad entered. He was home really fast.
"Emma! Why are you here?" He asked as he embraced me in a hug.
"Just stuff." I shrugged, not wanting to get into it. He nodded in understandment.
"How long are you going to stay?" He pulled me into another hug.
"At least my senior year. Or forever."
