[Emma's POV]
Daniel just lied to me. Why would he do that? We're friends. Friends don't lie right?
I collapsed down on my bed, after changing into shorts and a Sherpa. It was a little chilly out today.
The doorbell rang and then someone knocked. I figured it must be Mr. Hansen to see my mom. It is Valentine's Day after all. It was silent downstairs for a while and then a pair of feet pounded up the stairs. A few moments later, in came Ellie.
I sat up to talk but she just tackled me right back down again. I let out a gasp as she leaned on my stomach.
"Sorry." She laughed as she got up again. Prism had a phone and envelope in hand.
"What's that?" I pointed. She held it up with a smirk. "Oh no."
"No it's something good I promise." She handed it to me. I jsut threw it on my bed and went back to my original position.
"I'm not exactly in the mood." I confessed. I proceeded to tell her how Daniel had lied to me.
"Well suck it up, Buttercup. We're doing this." Wow no sympathy at all. She handed me the envelope, again, and stared me down as I opened it.
"Roses are red. Violets are Blue. Isa loves volleyballs, and stores do too." I read it aloud. "What? What's that supposed to mean?" I flipped the typed paper over, only to find a blank side.
"Think." Elle instructed.
"Isa and stores love volleyballs." I pondered it for a moment. "Oh. That sporting goods store across from school."
"Let's go!" She pushed me out the door and into the white Jeep. Upon arriving at the sports store, we went inside and headed straight towards the volleyballs. In with them, there was another envelope. I picked it up and out of nowhere, Corbyn appeared.
"Corbyn?" I asked, surprised. He handed me a rose with a goofy grin on his face.
"Good luck!" He ran out the door before I had time to ask any questions.
"What was that about?" I turned to Ellie. She just shrugged, but was definitely holding in a smile. I opened the envelope to find another typed clue.
"Roses are red, tulips are yellow, sand in our toes, along with that fellow." I grimaced. "This rhyming is, wow, interesting."
"Well where too next?" Prism urged me along.
"Well probably the sand volleyball courts."
"Then let's go!" This time in the Jeep, I turned the music on. Good Vibes by Chris Janson started to play. I screamed the lyrics as Ellie gave me odd looks.
"I'm not crazy." I reassured her when we got to the courts. I spotted Isabella sitting in the sand. She looked really bored.
"This is for you." She handed me yet another envelope and rose.
"Thank you." I replied. Then she ran off to her car, just like Corbyn. What is with these people? I opened the next envelope.
