[Faith's POV]

I was wandering the halls during free period trying to find my locker. There was nothing to do and I had already finished my homework. I still didn't know my way around the school, as it was only my fourth day here.

"Hey. Faith right?" I heard a voice and footsteps behind me. I quickly spun around and saw a red headed boy nearing.

"Um yeah." I said shyly. I hated strangers.

"Bryan Jenkins." He held out his hand and I nodded at him but refused the handshake. "You kind of caught my eye on Monday, when you first came." He said.

"Oh." I looked down, trying to hide my blush. Not many boys were interested in me because of my shyness. I was decent looking, I suppose, dirty blonde hair, greenish blue eyes, and fair but almost golden skin. Other girls thought I was beautiful, and they always became protective of their boyfriends when I was near.

I felt two warm fingers under my chin and I raised my gaze and met his green eyed stare. He was so close to me, and I could feel his breath hit against my skin. I quickly backed up, being that close to anyone made me uncomfortable.

"Sorry." He was still staring into my eyes. "I didn't mean to make you uncomfortable."

"It's ok." I replied and looked down.

"You seemed like you were looking for something before I got here." He changed the subject.

"Oh yeah. I can't find my locker." It sounded dumb, but I was still new here.

"Right this way madame." He held out his arm, and I hesitated, but took it. "What's the number?" He said as we found the hall with lockers.

"538," I replied. He led me to it, and leaned against a neighboring one and I fiddled with the lock. His gaze made me uncomfortable, I wasn't used to this attention.

Finally I got the lock opened, and my locker opened following it. I found the book for my next class, and pulled out out along with a notebook. I turned to him and he was still staring.

"Why are you always staring at me?" I asked after I had enough courage.

"Because you're beautiful." He simply responded. I blushed, and he took note. "Will you, Faith Reed, go on a date with me?"

My eyes nearly popped out of their sockets when I heard what he had to say. I sputtered out an answer, but didn't think it through.

"Sure." He smiled, and I politely did the same. I hardly knew Bryan, but I should get to know him. He seemed kind, and that was good.  He was fairly handsome as well.

"Here's my number." He held out a slip of paper, which I took. "Call me." He winked and disappeared.
_________

The first thing I did when I got home was enter Bryan's number into my phone. I paused, and thought about calling him. It wasn't like me to make the first move, but, he couldn't, as I hadn't given him my number. I pushed the call button, and there was a few rings.

"Hello?" His voice came from somewhere else.

"Hi Bryan." I said softly.

"Faith?" I nodded but then realized he couldn't see me.

"Yeah."

"So you still want to go out with me?" He asked and chuckled.

"Sure. I would like to get to know you better."

"Me too." He paused. "I could come over to your house and we could go for a walk or something?" He offered.

"That sounds good." I accepted.

"Text me the address?"

"Mhm."

"Bye Faithy." I raised my eyebrows at my new nickname, but didn't mind it.

"Bye." He ended the call, and I quickly texted him my address.

Soon, there was a ring of the doorbell and I walked downstairs to find Bryan on my porch. I grabbed my shoes and met him outside.

We walked to a nearby park, the opposite direction of Emma's house. I hadn't been here before, but I liked it and it was beautiful.

We sat at a picnic table and talked. Well mostly he was talking. Soon his hand was on mine, and our fingers had become intertwined.

"Faithy, I really like you, like a lot." He said again.

"I like you too," I replied. Maybe I was blinded by love, but Bryan seemed like a great guy, and I liked him. I wanted to learn more about him.

"Will you be my girlfriend?" He was moving way to fast, but I just nodded. It's true, I do fall in love to fast, but I wasn't worried. I'd be ok.

"Yes." Bryan smiled again and gave my hand a squeeze.

"Let's go get some ice cream Faithy."

We headed to a small frozen treats cart, and I got a popsicle. Bryan got a snickers ice cream bar, and offered me a bite. It looked good so I couldn't refuse.

"Mm that's delicious." I moaned after tasting it. (Oh my gosh that's so bad...😳)

He nodded in response and snuck a lick of my popsicle.

"Hey!" He laughed at my reaction after I pulled the food away. I giggled along too and continued to eat my popsicle. "Don't eat my popsicle!"

We walked along the sidewalk, the same way we came, and eventually we were at my house again. I held out my hand for his wrapper and he gave it to me.

"Goodbye Faithy." He gave me a kiss on the cheek.

"Goodbye Bryan." I waved a little as he walked down the steps.

"See you tomorrow." He got in his car and drove away. I headed into the kitchen and threw away the garbage, and then saw my step-mom and Ellie in the family room.

"Who was that?" Ellie teased. My face turned another shade of red, and I had a smile on my face.

"My boyfriend." I said quietly.

"Boyfriend!?" She was ecstatic. "Since when does my sister, Faith Rose Reed, get a boyfriend?" She jumped up and hugged me as my step mom did the same.
