[Isabella's POV]

Our music class had finished our songs, and we were getting ready for the school's annual talent show.

Freshman always opened the event with treats and goodies available for around a dollar. Anyone who wanted to could preform an act, but they had to go through an audition first. Since the junior music class already had their songs graded and approved by Mrs. Polles, we didn't have to audition.

Luke Plotee was my partner, and we just covered Feliz Navidad. Yes, it's the end of March and like twelve billion months away from December, but we couldn't think of anything else.

Daniel and Emma hadn't preformed their song in front of the class though. We were all confused on why, but Mrs. Polles simply said they were waiting for the talent show.

"Em! Can you and Daniel please play your song for us?" I begged at the beginning of class. Emma and her boyfriend were sitting next to each other, I was next to Corbyn, Lottie was next to Zach, and Jonah and Jack were there too.

"Nope." Emma grinned. Daniel was smiling too.

"Why not?" Zach whined.

"Because." Daniel shrugged. We all rolled our eyes, and then class started.

"Class, the talent show is tomorrow night, March 31st. Be here at six fifteen to warm up, it starts at seven. Today and tomorrow you can just practice your songs with your partner. Let's move people!" Mrs. Polles instructed us and we all went our separate ways.

"I really don't want to do this." Charlotte whined as we were waiting backstage before the talent show.

"And you think I want to?" I jokingly scoffed. "I can only sing, but you can play guitar and sing."

"So." She glared questioningly.

"Hey Isabella, we're next." Luke came up to me and handed me the sheet music. I nodded at him as Corbyn gave me a quick hug.

"Good luck, you'll do great!" He cheered.

"Thanks Corbs, you too." I smiled and walked to the side of the stage we were supposed to enter at.

Our song went smoothly, with no mistakes, which I was grateful for. After Luke and I, two other students preformed. Next was Zach and Lottie. They did incredible. Then, Corbyn, Jonah, and Jack preformed. They were the only group of three and they did amazing. A few other groups went, and then it was Emma and Daniel's turn.

Everyone in our music class was extremely excited. We knew they were both talented to no end, and we wanted to see what they had put together.

Daniel sat on a stool with a cello, with Emma to his right. She had her guitar, and they both had microphones. Their song started, and it was beautiful. Their voices blended perfectly. The verses and chorus were smooth and just wow. They were incredible.

The crowd went wild after their song. Whistles from many people, especially Daniel's family. I saw Emma search the crowd for her parents, or at least her mom, but they weren't there. Emma's face saddened a bit, but she still had a huge smile on her face.

Daniel grabbed her hand for the bow, and after, gave her a hug and kiss on the cheek. They ran off stage with their instruments, and then some seniors preformed.
